Taurus

Would like some imput on a Taurus 1911 SS 9MM pistol.
Was looking for a Springer, but they're either over priced or
OOS.

You pretty much get what you pay for most times. Springfield stamped NM > > northern manufacture are made here. They also have some of the best CR's dept. Honestly the only Taurus I owned was a Judge. That is the only gun I sold but that was to replace it with a S&W Governor which is much nicer. Good luck on your quest.

Haven't had any experience with the 1911 Taurus , but the TCP & PT845 shoot just fine every-time. I did see a guy bring back a new 709 to a shop that wasn't working right. They replaced it no questions.

I looked hard, far & wide for a decent 9MM, Stainless Steel 1911.
Finally came across a Sig Sauer 1911T9SME. Ordered it today. Hope
it gets here soon, I'm stoked. I have the Sig 1911-22 in OD , & I love it.

Currently running a Taurus PT1911 AR chambered for 38 Super as my EDC and have found it to be just a great gun. It is equipped with a rail under the barrel, that I don't use, but is there. I know they are not currently being produced and would only be available used. But Taurus is like any other brand there will be the good, the bad and ugly. Mine has been a good firearm and would buy another if I needed a replacement.

I think alot of folks that bad mouth Taurus handguns are just repeating what the've heard. I HAD a Taurus Judge. Never had any problems with it.
Put it up for sale on Armslist, took awhile, but I sold it for what I paid. Was a fun gun, but just not practical, sold it to fund a Ruger Alaskan. ( Not very practical either. )
Didn't really want to chance getting the 1911 9MM. But I will probably get one of the 45's once my wallet recovers from the Sig. 1911's are like Lays
chips. One is NOT enough.

My wife purchased a Taurus ( what ever they call their fake Berretta) several years ago. I will admit it alwways went bang but the DA trigger pull was a M............I................L...............E long and about 60 pounds. So no I'm not just repaeting what I've heard

My TCP w/ CT gets more carry time than my more expensive CCW.
Partial trade of a PT745 ( car gun) on tractor ( zero issues) will be replaced sometime.

the PT 1911 and PT 92 are very nice pistols however if you want to change grips on the 1911 you have to get Taurus grips regular ones do not fit.

My research says they will fit, with a slight MOD to the r/s grip for ambi-safety clearance.

Took the Sig to the range today. What an absolute pleasure. Ran a box of Fed. FMJ, a box of factory re-loads, & 25 rds. of Hornady Critcal Defense.
Not one issue. This gun ran flawlessly.
Felt a little strange shooting a medium round in it. I'm used to 45 ACP, & I also have a SIG 1911-22. Very little recoil but it did seem to torque counter clockwise for some reason.
Shot a little low at 21'. Gonna try shooting it from a rest next time before I go playing around with the sights.
Very nice gun.

I have a Sig(SP2022) & a Taurus(PT11/G2)that I shoot on a regular basis.....two very different autos. What they do have in common is they both cycle everything I feed'em, both are very accurate at 7-15 yds, & they both feel great in my hand. I'd expect the Sig to outshine the Taurus further out, but haven't honestly compared them beyond 15. Because of the smaller size & weight I prefer to carry the Taurus. Would that change if I had a Sig 250 or 320 subcompact?.....

Taurus as a brand name has been flawless for my wife and her ultralite. Apples and oranges here, so research, research, research!

Would not purchase another taurus handgun, bought wife an ultra lite 22 mag revolver, noticed front sight insert was loose within a week of purchase, then one day a little while later noticed the insert was gone, contacted taurus cs and was informed I would have to pay around $90 s+h for warranty service , cheaper just to purchase new insert and they would send me a warranty insert for free, they advertise a lifetime warranty but they used this as a way to weasel out of honoring my warranty, will stick to ruger , colt, and s&w revolers in future, also because trigger pull is so heavy my wife has to cock hammer to shoot this revolver, not a good revolver for lady

A lot of small companies start out with great customer service. As they get larger, the bottom line prevents them from providing the same service without losing money. Unfortunately, when some companies get too big, their quality suffers, customer complaints increase, etc, etc.
One notable exception to that rule is HI-POINT, their customer service is second to none IMHO. They have kept their product line to a minimum & have excelled in keeping them simple ( Albeit UGLY ).
