Taurus PT709 Slim for CCW

I'm considering the Taurus PT709 Slim for concealed carry, but can't find one at any local gun shops to check out. Anyone who owns one of these want to give some pros/cons?

The piece has performed very well for me at the range, regardless of the ammunition used. I carry with Hornady Critical Defense rounds, 7+1 with confidence. I carry with a Galco IWB Tuckable holster in the summer, and it just "disappears" under a button-up shirt. Good pistol with a good holster. I carry vertical with a shoulder rig when I can wear a jacket.

I just purchased a PT-709 a week ago. Have had it to the range, it performed flawlessly. I shot 200 rounds of various brands of ammo, sites were dead on right out of the box, I bench tested it first, all was better than good. I am going to carry it with the Hornady Critical Defense as well. I have a friend who has had one for about a year, she LOVE hers, I can see why, just a nice piece to shoot, fits well in a pocket too. Now for the holster decisions . . I think I am going to get both an IWB and an OWB, already have a pocket holster that fits it well. I hope you find one, surely some gun store has them in your area. I went to my local gun store in Roswell NM, they said they have a hard time keeping them in stock, they got 10 in the day before I was there, I bought two, 2 left when I left the store, they are going out the door as fast as they can order them and get them in.

No questions in particular. Just wanted to get the "vibe" on it. I hesitate to spend the money on ordering one without handling it first.

Thanks for the holster info. I'll have to go with tuckable IWB the majority of the time. Would this gun work in a pocket holster, or is it too large?

Which model pocket holster are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

I suppose in some circumstance it could pocket well. For instance, cargo pants or cargo shorts pockets - and there are holsters just for that, too. Forget it in jeans (at least for me). Even though highly concealable, in my opinion it is not a pocket gun.

The S&W Shield is in the same category and price range and a much better choice IMO.
