Taurus 709 Slim and Taurus USA

I would like to warn everyone of the availability of parts for the Taurus 709 Slim.

I have been waiting for an extractor for said firearm since July of 2015. Originally, I was told 6-8 weeks. After about 12 weeks, I inquired again, and was told that it was an "indefinite" backorder. I inquired again today to find out the status. Again I was told there was no date for extractors to come in.

I asked if the firearms were still being produced. Yes. So then you have extractors. No.

I find it terribly hard to believe that there is not ONE extractor to be had for this paperweight.

Even tho' its been almost two and a half years since your post I hope you got your Slim repaired. You should have sent the gun back to Taurus. Lifetime Guarantee and the turn around time is less that a week.

Hubby has a Taurus Slim, too. He ordered extra magazines from our gun shop two months ago. Nothing. He finally ordered them from Amazon and got them in two days.

He agrees with Dogfish that it's best to send it back to Taurus and let them fix it.

I just bought a new Taurus PT-111 G2, the double stack version of a 709 Slim. I will be quick to send it back to Taurus if I have a problem.
