Clinging to God and guns
A man identified as a suspect in a home invasion that happened on Sunday night died after being transported to Princeton Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police said Eric Moore, 23, is believed to have been a masked gunman who broke into a home in the 900 block of Apple Drive in the Forestdale area.
Police said Moore fired shots at the resident who was luckily not hit but in turn returned fire. The suspect was hit and fled the scene. Moore was apparently taken to the hospital by friends and later identified as the suspect in the home invasion.
Further investigation revealed that the homeowner had broken up a fight the night before at the Platinum Club in Birmingham that the suspect had been involved in. Police discovered that the suspect had inquired about the address of the homeowner prior to forcing his way in.
At the time of a press release from the sheriff’s office, information indicated the shooting was justified and the investigation is ongoing.
