Suppose firearms suporters went on STRIKE?

Nationally, and especially here in my home state of New York, firearms enthusiasts are under fire from the anti-gun politicians. There are many who will say, "Hell, that doesn't affect me, I'm just a good ole boy trap-shooter, I don't have any of those mean, nasty black guns, and I don't want any." Then there are those who just fancy older black-powder, antique & curiosity stuff, who are saying, " Hell, I don't have a dog in that fight, what do I care about saving them semi-automatic, make believe military look-alikes from extinction?" "Pistols? Who gives a darn, I ain't got any of them foolish things!"

If you own ANY FIREARM AT ALL - you should be concerned. We are all in this boat together, and there ain't much freeboard left for this little bitty dory full of gun owners in these stormy seas.

Now just for a moment, suppose gun people, those who have them, or support the idea of people having them, were to go on STRIKE! I don't mean a "Stay home, don't go to work, picket line thing" -- I mean something important to a lot of people. Just suppose, concerned gun-owners went on strike with their pocketbooks, and STOPPED SUPPORTING ALL CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS, stopped supporting, both monetarily and with your donated time, all of the charitable organizations that you may contribute to now. Usually, when people get hit in the pocketbook, they take notice. Do you donate to a United Fund, payroll deduction from work?, the Salvation Army, ReD Cross, local youth groups, Cancer Society, Hospice, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Humane Societys, Heart Association, Veterans Organizations, local childrens sports leagues, ANY ORGANIZATION THAT YOU PRESENTLY SUPPORT THAT RELIES ON DONATIONS OF YOUR TIME AND/OR MONEYS TO KEEP FUNCTIONING. SUPPOSE YOU STOPPED THE DONATIONS OF YOUR MONEY & TIME, AND YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LET THEM KNOW WHY..
....BECAUSE YOUR GUN RIGHTS ARE UNDER ASSAULT BY UNCONSTITUTIONAL, ILL-CONCEIVED, USELESS FIREARMS REGULATIONS, YOUR LIQUID CASH & YOUR VALUABLE TIME WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO AID ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY ENGAGED IN OPPOSING THESE UNREASONABLE FIREARMS REGULATIONS. DO YOU BELIVE THAT WOULD HAVE MUCH AFFECT ON HOW FIREARMS OWNERS ARE PERCEIVED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC? JUST WONDERING?

It's time to be monsters.
Anyone else have a thought or two about the whole gun grab is keeping the public's mind off of the fact that they can't pass a budget, won't control spending, and are raising taxes. You know, stir the gun pot so the public doesn't see the butt fugging they're getting.

You sir, have a very good point send that to the news cnn, fox, any and all, that might get our points across how much this means to us, and give others the politicians worry. Great job

You could send the gun manufactures, ammunition makers a letter possibly asking them to just send this scare tactic out their heck who knows, lol

"We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately." - Benjamin Franklin

I completely agree that ALL gun owners of any kind, and all who respect the Bill Of Rights even if they are not gun owners, should stick together.
I do not however think that withholding contributions to charities that have nothing to do with this fight will be productive for our cause.
Most charities would not hold any political power or would not try to involve their contributors/followers in an issue outside of their focus area.
And Veterans charities? Why would you want to hold back funding for those who have sacrificed themselves in one degree or another for our freedoms?

It would be much more productive for ALL of us to contribute directly to our cause by becoming members and/or buying additional memberships for family members to organizations that are directly opposing these political moves such as NRA, GOA, SAF, CCRKBA, JPFO, etc. and informing our state and federal representatives/senators that we will directly oppose any and every one which does not take a stand for our RKBA.

wizrd, you forgot one big one and thats hunting license.New York can kiss my old ass this year seeing that it`s all about deer hunting guns.

We are the "silent majority". It means we can write on these forums and walk around our houses like a mad hungry lion looking to kill something but in the end, calls for some kind of "united front" are just calls and will never be anything more than that. The piece of garbage got reelected even with all his utter failures and fascist policies--it tells you that we are in very big trouble. As far a I am concerned, I have my firearms and I have my magazines and it if you try to forcibly take them from me I will take your life first. I will send someone to hell before I go to heaven. You put me in imminent danger, even if you are this fascist government, I will defend myself. I probably will lose but I will not be a sheep and I will not go whimpering into the night like so many people in 1930s/40s Germany or 1940s/50s Soviet Union, where gun confiscation was a first priority. Here in SC or at least in my county, the Sheriff has already publicly proclaimed that he has enough laws on the books to control violence and has no intention of following any of these latest piles of legislative crap from the fascist resident in the whitehouse, as he feeds off the carcasses of 20 dead children in Ct.

A boycott of lotteries nation wide would definitely be noticed as many states rely heavily on the income! Also in states like NY, boycott state run casinos, OTB etc. all would hit the state in the pocket book! Politicians listen to money!!
