Summer Cabin

We were at our summer cabin for the weekend....
I knew they said there would be some flurries....Not too much. We headed back south before the roads got bad...

Temp 8 degrees with 25 mph winds...-13 wind chill.

We just got home, talked to friends, they say temp in near zero now and about a foot of snow and still snowing hard...This is right off Blue Ridge Parkway at NC, TN line.

My wife is from Two Rivers, WI so she is a cold weather person but she has been south so long her blood has thinned out

Now I know for you northerners this is no big deal....

We left the northern states in 2001... We have moved from MO to TN and them to SC. I'm close to birth state of GA...

We came back home to be able to spend last three years with my 90-year-old Father, so I could take care of him to prevent him from being placed into a Nursing Home...

Only wish I could have done the same for my Mother. One of my biggest regrets!

Any way the summer cabin is about 8 miles off paved road so I decided to head home before dark.

I wish you many happy days and more good memories made with your father. I lost my dad when I was 19, my mom when I was 26 and that was 26 years ago. I envy those who still get to spend time, any time at all, with a parent.

You had the perfect truck for staying late and then plowing through the snow. Nice cabin.

Ya know we had this thing in over 18 inches of snow on one of our trips back to Wisconsin...She never missed a beat...That diesel engine has so much weight in the front end it has unreal traction!

I've had her on some logging roads I though I could not get back out of but she came right on. At one spot I only had three wheels on the ground. This is my third super duty I've had (One F-250, one F-450 (too big for me) and now this F-350)

I told my wife I wanted to get the King Ranch at least once in my life..This is it. Only have 38K on it so I plan on this being the last truck I own. It should last longer than I do!

This is the F-450 with my bike...man that black was a bear to keep clean!

Man it had to be ruff losing them so young!

I have some great memories of them as I'm sure you do also. I refuse to think of the bad days towards the end.
