Not again!!!!!!!!
Some poor soul killed himself at the Arizona Shooting range & emporium in Ft. Lauderdale today.

As heard from witnesses who were inside the range at the time:

Man came in and seemed really nervous. Was asking a lot of question about guns and rented a few of them. Went to his lane and shot a few down range. He was asking for help with them and some of the witnesses helped him.. One told me that everybody thought there was something wrong with this guy. Just jittery and sweating. After putting a few down range with a .357 magnum he put the gun under his chin and pulled the trigger. He left a several page note in his car out front which the investigators retrieved.

sad...very sad especialy that other people saw this occuring and did nothing but help him along. Now gun ranges will get a bad rap and reason to give the but holes more ways of disarming a
AMERICANS, or TRY anyways... lol

Very sad situation.
Clearly this person had some serious issues that weren't fully understood by those around at the range.
It's really tough to ask a stranger, "Hey, what's really got you bothered here. What's going on?"

Of course the media spin will likely focus on the gun range or the suicide letter. They'll be missing the finer point of what could have saved a life. Saving lives would be more helpful to all of us, but it doesn't make headlines.

Having dealt with a suicidal roommate and a suicidal accquaintance(neither successfully killed themselves), I am sure that those who knew this person are dealing with issues of their own now. These sorts of things often get lost in the frenzy of headline news.

I look at it this way. This fellow needed some serious help and did not get it. That much we can agree on.

This fellow chose to take his own life with a firearm rented at a range. The ranges I belong to are very strict about who they permit on site and their host must be within arm's length at all times.

This fellow could have taken his own life in any number of ways; many that would have caused further loss of life - in a way the public should consider themselves fortunate.

I would like to know if anyone realized that this fellow needed help and poo-pood it under the rug.

In any event, a tragedy to be sure but perhaps a bigger tragedy averted. Who knows?

The fact is that anyone intent on ending their own life is going to accomplish this regardless of what we think or say - the only way to prevent same is to recognize that they need help and give same.

Its sad but the last thing I want to do is Piss off a person who is ready to take their own life. As for those that answered this guys questions they feel bad but no need to kick them about it they didn't know what he was about to do they were just being helpful and answering his questions.

I go there all the time..

I just joined USA Carry today. I go to that range a lot. Did not hear about this suicide in the local media.
