My wife has a small j-frame and may want to mix up how she carries. Any suggestions for what may be comfortable? I've seen a bunch of options from bras to thighs to iwb. My concern is that if it's not comfortable, she wouldn't carry. Any ideas are much appreciated!
if she uses a skirt and blouse, or pants and shirt, she can use the belly band and a navel carry. With a dress, she's pretty much stuck with inner thigh rig, purse carry, or bra rig, or the vest type deal, dunno if it's still sold, that holds a gun in the vertical, butt up "shoulder rig" position, in her armpit. she'll have to slip the dress off of one shoulder to access that one. the one with the rig centered below her bust is going to be hard to access with a dress on. The bra rig that Bianchi sold (sells) holds the gun upside down, horizontally, with the slide under one breast, pointed towards her weak side. However, if anyone looks down her cleavage, the gun's butt is visible, and nothing larger or heavier than the Keltec 380 is going to work in such a rig. I have an idea for a formal line of evening wear for women, which will correct this problem, but until I have the patent, the idea stays where it is.
Thanks for the info trainor. Dresses and skirts seem to be fewer and far between these days so I'll check out the other options you mentioned. I'll be on the look out for your formal line when you can get a patent for those special occasions!
My wife carries a S&W 442 in a Pro Carry HD holster from The Holster Store, small of the back position. I also use a Pro Carry HD at 4:00 position for my Baby Desert Eagle and love it. Their holsters take a week or so before the leather starts to "form" around the shape of your gun, but after they break in you hardly notice they are there. They also have a much shorter waiting time for leather holsters than most sellers.
