Hi everyone -
New to this website but heard i may be able to find some good information pertaining to my situation.
I submitted my application for a temporary state concealed carry pistol permit back on november 30 2011. I have been told numerous times by my local authority that the department of public safety is backed up 13-16 weeks. Fine - at least it's an answer. My only problem is that back when I had submitted my permit application, I was not aware that I would have to be moving a few towns over at the end of February. I don't want to nag my local PD about it because they are telling me it's not them that's backed up, it's the state. I know I should probably just call the the state DPS or the local PD and ask, but I'd like to see what other people, if there are other people, who have been in the same situation. in Connecticut.
Has anyone ever encountered such a situation? If so, how have you gone about handling it? Will i be forced to forfeit my application fee's and re-submit in the town of my new residence, or is there hope yet that I may still be able to obtain my temporary permit without having to forfeit fee's and go through the re-submission process.
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
** Update ** So I broke down and ended up calling my local police department, they referred me to the records department who ended up taking down a secondary phone number and address for me.
