Student Group Wants to Rename High School After Obama

A student activist group at Boulder High School in Colorado has started a campaign to honor President Obama by renaming the school for the nation's 44th and first African-American president, FOX31 in Denver reports.

The group "Student Worker" wants to change the name to "Barack Obama High School," citing Obama's "progressive spirit," but some students are opposed to the request.

"This school's been here forever. Why change the name now?" said student Ahmad Almarez.

Another student, Johnny Albert, said the change is unnecessary since Obama doesn't have any apparent connections with Colorado.

"Being African American, Barack Obama doesn't really have a history here," said Albert.

In November, an elementary school near New York City was renamed for Obama — nearly two months before his inauguration.

That school, originally named after Charles Ludlum, a local physician who served on the school board for about 40 years, was renamed Barack Obama Elementary School.

The school's principal, Jean Bligen, said 466 students are black or Hispanic, and Obama's election was a big source of pride.

I don't recall hearing anything about a "Kenyan Elementary" or "Kenyan High School" in the news. :lol: :laugh:

Why? Don't you watch the news? 0bama has been THE greatest president this country has ever had. He bypassed FDR, JFK, Washington, and Lincoln before he was even inaugurated. Shoot, you can even get a fleece blanket with his picture on it.

As near as I can tell the best things about him are:
1) He talks about his own greatness in TWO biographies
2) He's getting his daughters a dog, even though they are allergic to dogs
3) You can buy fleece blankets with his picture
4) Montel is selling coins with BHO's picture painted on them (isn't this defacing/destroying legal tender?)
5) He doesn't appear to have held any single job for it's full term or, in many cases even a full year.
