Stress Syndrome

Received this via email and you have to wonder what the hell is wrong in this country. It seems to be operating in reverse. Logic is thrown out the window.

There is no excuse for killing innocent people, but our soldiers being deployed over and over,
seeing and doing the things they do, to protect our freedom, some of these soldiers have mental breakdowns.

Until you have been there and experienced war, one never truly understands the effects of being in a combat zone.

Here's some food for thought.........begs the question, "what's our Justice Dept. and this Admin all about?

After reading the headlines about the US soldier who shot up Afghanistan
civilians, I couldn't help noticing an irony. There is all this clamor to
try this guy quickly while emphasizing that he will probably face the death
penalty and be executed, never mind his having suffered a traumatic brain
injury.

Yet Major Hassan, who shot up Fort Hood while screaming Allah Akbar, still
hasn't stood trial, and they are still debating whether he was insane, even
with the clear evidence regarding his motive: slay as many infidels as
possible.

So we have a guy in a war zone who cracks, and he must be tried and probably
executed immediately, but this Muslim psychiatrist who was stateside in a
nice safe office all day murders 13 and wounds 29 of our own guys, and they
try to argue the poor lad suffered post-traumatic stress syndrome, from
listening to real soldiers who had actual battle experience. Two and a half
years later, they still haven't tried him.

I think the fast trial and execution is coming from the fact the Obama was right on the phone the minute he heard about it and apologizing for it to the Afghan President. That our troops are only over there to be targets for the Muslims that what to slay as many infidels as possible. This solder has had suffered a brain injury and should not have been there in the first place. There is not enough men in the military to support all the wars our Presidents have gotten into. The little amount of men and women that have volunteered to fight our wars has gone down; because of the low pay they receive and the fact that the country no longer takes care of our voluntaries or their families if they are killed or died over there fighting for our country.

At Ft Hood Maj Hassan was shooting infidels so his trial will be delayed. And the people in Afghanistan they are no longer terrorist.
FBI Purges Hundreds of Terrorism Documents in Islamophobia Probe
An internal FBI investigation into its counterterrorism training has purged hundreds of bureau documents of instructional material about Muslims, some of which characterized them as prone to violence or terrorism.
The White House ordered a government-wide review of counterterrorism training late last year. A Pentagon document responding to the order cited Danger Room’s series as an impetus for the effort.

People aren't quitting the military because of low pay. They are currently better paid than ever before. They join out of love for our country. They are quitting because of stupid decisions made by the commanders, like the revocation of the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy and others like it. They are quitting because they can't believe in the chain of command when such stupid decisions are made. God bless those who remain and defend our country in spite of it all, but you can't blame those who quit, either. Would you advise your son or daughter to join, knowing that homosexual behavior is no longer even discouraged, and that they will be subjected to "re-education" if they complain about another member hitting on them?

You and I can solve this problem easily by calling for the reinstatement of the military draft. A draft that calls for everbody of age to go into the military. There will be no excuses or deferments for anything. Let us see how fast the politicians are to go to and stay at war when there kids lives are on the line. As for "this administration" as you pointed to. The current administration is not the one who went to an all voluntary armed service. If both men are guilty then both men should sentenced accordingly.

I think another reason for low number of volunteers is that many are not wanting to go fight a war started by the ultra-wealthy for profitable purposes and our military is supposed to be used to keep our borders secure not to be based on every continent spreading bs democracy. We're very much like the ancient Roman empire whose military was over-expanded and over-expenditured and whose economy collapsed because of over-taxation and over-spending.

Absolutely...this is not a "this administration" issue...it is not just the all-volunteer military, it is fighting wars off the books, using contractors, using a military to build nations and not win wars, failing to fund programs for both active duty and veterans. The previous administration knew it needed a draft but also knew that there would be no support for war if they instituted one. Woukd we really stay the course on a pointless war if everyone had skin in the game?
