If you are reading this, I know that you already own a gun or are in the process of purchasing your first gun.
WE are all saddened by the events that have transpired over the last several weeks. There seems to be a lot of shootings and taking of human life. And while we can quote the statistics that this is no more common than in the past, we are being reminded of it on a daily basis. (I guess there is no other worthy news stories.)
We are now hearing that “gun control advocates” are gearing up for and are coming forth with some sort of enhanced gun control. This may or may not include a ban on certain guns and or magazines. This may be some sort of legislation or presidential enforcement/mandate. We really do not know what is coming. And thus we should all be concerned and get involved.
Get Involved. This reminds me that I can sit on the fence and watch the fight, or I can get involved and win or lose, say that I did what I should have done. We can no longer expect our elected representatives to “listen to the people”. They just do not do that these days. Who they listen to are the people that they talk to every day. They listen to political lobbyist who is funded by someone else, and who pushes their agendas. We have seen this is several other areas such as sexual orientation. PLEASE, THINK about this for a minute. Ask yourself how a very small percentage of the American public can push for and achieve favorable results? I am talking about 1 to 2% of the population. But they are funded! And they have people working our representative each and every day.
Now, what can we do? First we can write to our representatives. It is so easy today. If you are reading this you have direct access to your elected official’s website and can easily write to them to protect our rights. Secondly, we know that they are a lot of gun owners in this GREAT COUNTRY of OURS. We know that not all of us, me included until three days ago, who do not support any sort of group that supports our gun rights. We say it costs $35 to join the NRA, (note they are offering a $10 discount if you join now). The price of membership is the price of a box of ammunition. Would you be willing to forgo the purchase of one box of ammo to add your single name to the growing list of people who can now have access on a daily basis to our elected representatives? There are other organizations that we can join, just search the web for Second Amendment Rights and you will get a pretty good list to choose from. Take your time; YES you do have the time, MAKE the time! Our Rights are at stake here, and read their mission statements. Research them all! Find that one group who you agree with. BUT the message is this, JOIN ONE OF THE GROUPS TODAY!
Let’s take what we are told is a small percentage of the population who own and support gun ownership and keep what is ours today, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. Yes we have our constitutional rights in the Second Amendment. But we have one of the most liberal group of representatives in power today! THEY have an agenda and THEY are going to get what THEY want UNLESS we come together and work together. You can think of it like this, a single stick is easily broken, BUT many sticks that are bound together are very difficult to break.

I finish with repeating JOIN ONE OF THE GROUPS TODAY! OUR STRENGTH IS IN NUMBERS. Support the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, the Right of the individual to keep and bear firearms.
