Anyone know of any manufacturers that make that animal?

GUN CARRYING AMERICAN PATRIOT!!!!

This is the only one I know of. Idk how I feel about such a long-action cartridge in an AR pattern rifle though. I just found that off of a quick google search, so I have no idea what it's reputation for reliability (if any) is like.

They are both correct. .308 is short action, and .30-06 is long action. The 06 won't fit in a standard AR-10 mag well or receiver. Consequently, that rifle is going to be a good amount larger and probably heavier than an AR-10

Well I realize that it would probaly be a custom piece. The extra size would be a plus. I would just really like an AR based platform for my favorite round. I already have 5 various 5.56 ARs and 2 Armalite AR10s in .308.

I have a LMT MWS in .308. I love it and with interchangeable barrels you can put many other rounds through it without any other modification. It is the preferred urban sniper rifle of the British military.

Here's a link so you can learn more about it: Link Removed

When I got mine (about a month before Newton, CT shooting happened) I was able to acquire it for $2400, however they seem to be about a grand more now.

I apologize. The only barrels that will work with the LMT MWS are: .243 Winchester, .260 Remington, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Remington or .338 Federal, and of course the .308 that is standard.

I would think that the .30-06 would be too long of a cartridge to fit in the mag well.

Well after a lot of looking I have found a company called Noreen that makes an AR rifle in .30-06 and in many other larger calibers. The o6 is called the BN 36 and can be had with a 20 round magazine. Check them out at www.onlylongrange.com .

I'm interested Captain, what type of magazine does the BN36 take? I've looked on their site and did a search but couldn't find a definite answer. My thoughts are it can't take a regular AR-10 mag since the .30-06 round is longer. Is there a proprietary magazine for this firearm that you know of? This would be my only concern getting into this firearm.

Other than that issue, it seems to be an impressive firearm for something that is less than a year old. Time will tell. I've seen no reviews to suggest that the BN36 is not a quality weapon.

A lot of looking means you read what I posted in the third comment in this thread?

Glad you found it but not sure what you mean by a lot of searching. Both warbird and myself provided the link, and it was the first thing that popped up when typing "30-06 Ar-10" on google. Didn't seem that difficult to me.

So what does that mean you want a cookie? Quit acting so childish!!!

After much online searching I discovered that your personality reminds me of the lyrics in a certain limp bizkit song. It tells you what you can do with your cookie.

Childish? You were the one who stated you were looking for a specific rifle but apparently was not bright enough to type "AR-10 in .30-06" into google. Instead you post here expecting other people to do the work for you. That is the only childish behavior I see here.

Reading this thread brings to mind an old expression. "No good deed goes unpunished." I believe the fellow who coined the phrase must have been a childhood companion of the real captain jack. His experiences with him caused him to coin the phrase.
