States turn around time

Just wondering what time it's taking different states for turn around time on thier applicaction times. And if they are conforming to thier laws?

Maine, which is a Shall Issue state in 30 days, took an actual 101 days through the State Police...I was told by processor that she was swamped. They were always helpful when I called and pleasant to deal with, but they are shorthanded and unable to deal with the number of applications in a timely manner.

In IN. mine took about 9 weeks, but that was several years ago, and I opted for the life-time . A freind of mine just got hers back in 15 days, to get it back computerization speeds everything up.

Iowa has 30 days, got mine in 10 or 11. For what it's worth, it varies from county to county. Some will push it to the limit. It's a "sour grapes" thing I guess.

In Pennsylvania it took me an hour...was local and state cleared in 30 min...other 30 minutes was the drive to norristown court house for my I'D card.

New York State Average Time, 12 - 16 Months especialy (Erie County)

Just turned mine into erie county last month. We'll see how long it takes. I know someone that just got one in my same town, 8 month wait, so im hopeful to get it by the end of the year.

I did not justify a reason for concealed carry on my ap, so i wont be able to carry.

Also if anyone is interested in cost:
$10 for 2 passport style photos
$20 application processing fee
$102.50 fingerprinting fee

NJ - the law is 30 days. After 45, I started to call the Chief every day. Eventually he called me back and personally signed the form and told me I can come in to pick it up. They average about 3-6 MONTHS.

My Delaware permit took 12 weeks, it varies by county and time of year, fastest time I've heard was 8 weeks, slowest 9 months. My Florida permit was 4 weeks mail box to mail box.

Arkansas, utilizing the electronic pre-registration, took 2 weeks. They process the electronic pre-registrations first then the all paper applications. They get backed up at times but from others I’ve talk with, AR generally gets it to you in 30days or less.

In Michigan it is going to depend on what county that you live in. In Metro Detroit, Wayne county you are looking between 6-8 weeks. My CPL came in around the seven week mark.

Alabama requires renewal every year. It takes about 15 minutes from the time you walk in the door, (even the first time) until you walk out with your permit.
The first time I had to fill out half a page of info, now I just hand them my old photo ID permit.

In Washington State, Pierce county my wife got hers in just over two weeks
I paid for mine yesterday, so we will see if the time is consistant

In Maine, the law reads: Within 30 days for a resident of 5 or more years, otherwise it shall be issued within 60 days.

For myself going through the local city police chief, it took around 8 business days. Three months later for my boyfriend through the same municipality, it took 4 days. The shorter turn-around time might have had something to do with his getting a background check done two months earlier so that he could go through the Maine Law Enforcement Pre-Service Program, but that's just a guess on my part.

I see that people here say to start calling the department that is issuing the permit as soon as the time limit is up.
My question is wont that just piss them off? And does it have a possability of them denying you, Just because you were bothering them so much?
