States of Emegergency

By NC law you may not carry a firearm off your property during a declared state of emergency. While that seems to make some sense if the emergency was declared for issues like civil unrest I do not believe it was ever meant or should be applied to weather related states of emergency. Does anybody know if anybody ever got in trouble under those circumstances?

No Lawyers - Only Guns and Money: Another Snow Storm, Another State of Emergency For NC

Seems that in the past there was confusion, but in the more recent two events, it is specifically cleared up.

Section 7.

This order is adopted pursuant to my powers under Article 1 of Chapter 166A of the General Statutes and not under my authority under Article 36A of Chapter 14 of the General Statutes. It does not trigger the limitations on weapons in G.S. § 14-288.7 or impose any limitation on the consumption, transportation, sale or purchase of alcoholic beverages.
