SR9C vs LC9

Besides the obvious difference in size, can anybody tell me if there's any other major differences between the two? I like the size of the LC9 for easier concealability but love the looks of the black/stainless steel SR9C

That's basically what it comes down to is size. If you go shooting a lot then +1 Sr9c due to the 17 mag but still concealable with the 10 rounder, but if your goal is pretty much to conceal then the lc9 has the leg up. Both have a manual lever safety. The Sr9c is also good for left handers as the safety and mag release are on both sides.

My personal opinion would be the Sr9c. A lot less recoil with the added size plus it looks a lot better

Well, being that I live in Massachusetts and anything over a 10 round mag considered to be illegal, which would you go with? I know that typically the SRC comes with a 10 round mag and an additional 17 round mag but not in Mass. :o(

But as far as shooting and accuracy are concerned....would you consider them to be equal? Ideally for me would be if they made an LC9 in black and stainless steel like the SRC

I have both and prefer the SR9c. I'm a southpaw and enjoy the safety and mag release being on both sides of the SR9c. On the LC9 the mechanicals are set up for right-handed only. The grip on the LC9 feels odd to me, wider in the back than the front. recoil on the LC9 is manageable, mild on the SR9c. Trigger on the SR9c is smoother than my LC9. A little bigger, yes. But a much better gun for the same money.

I feel the same way regarding the grip. If you were right handed (like me), would there be anything else to consider to be better besides the safety and mag release? I've heard the pull on the LC9 feels long though.

Yeah that's another thing. Lc9 has a long looong pull. Takes some getting used to when trying to aim straight. The Sr9c has an extremely short pull. It literally feels like a cocked revolver, I'd say a REAL 5 pounds not what manufacturers claim their 9 pound pull is.

I'd save your money and MOVE TO A BETTER STATE LMAO....Seriously, I'd go with which ever one you think you will carry more, if that is your intent and if that is the case, the LC9 would be very easy to conceal.

I like the LC9 due to the size and easy concealment. I wouldn't let looks become a factor here. This is a carry gun- not a collector show piece....

I have both and I must say the SR9C is my favorite of the two. The trigger pull on the LC9 is way too heavy for me and there's no getting around it. I must add it's only one of few things I don't like about the LC9, it's the perfect size for my hand making it very comfortable to carry, not to mention that you could buy both for less than $400.00. However, the SR9C has an awesome trigger, great adjustable sights and more capacity. I carry it more than it's little brother.

Me thinks you've already answered your question... The rest of this thread will just be us rearranging that furniture.

Our opinion (which along with $4 will get you a Starbucks)
LC9
+ small size/easier to conceal
- greater felt recoil
- heavy trigger pull
- limited round count
SR9c
- larger size (mitigated by good carry gear [TheisHolster.com], etc)
+ less felt recoil
+ greater round capacity

At the end of the day, though, the best gun to carry isthe one you feel most comfortable with. Time behind the trigger will solve most operational issues (trigger weight) outside of physical limitation of the shooter (hand/grip size). We have seen litle difference in reliability or performance of either firearm on our range & in our classes.
