Springfield xd40 subcompact

I brought a Springfield xd40 subcompact handgun. When I shot it at the range the accuracy was perfect. The only problem I have is when I fire a shoot, the slide comes back and hit my thumb nuckle. How can you help me with this problem?

Quickly, get some heavy grit sandpaper and grind down your thumb.

No... Sounds like your grip is too high for the slide. Perhaps try lowering it? Not too sure if you can buy extra grips for it.

I have that gun for my EDC, love it. Had a similar problem to you in that my thumb would occasionally hit the slide lock under recoil. What I do now is have a slightly lower grip and have my non-trigger hand's thumb basically cover and hold down the thumb on the grip. Hope this helps.

i posted something on another thread about never CCing because I live in the state of Illinois. No one really answered my question directly. Since you fellas own and probably have been around the springfield brand more, is the 40 xdm a little too bulky for a CC gun or is the subcompact as big as you would go?? with the whole possible ban on 10+ round mags, i was debating on which gun i should buy next.

I love a subcompact because I have big hands and weigh about 260. It all depends on your comfortability with the gun. Just remember any gun is better then no gun
