Springfield Armory

Just want say kudos to Springfield, have an xds that tends to have light strikes with much muzzle flip. I've shot other xds that aren't as temperamental. So I called support telling them the problem and said I was willing to buy a recoil spring assy. to see if that would fix it. A week later a recoil spring assy. arrived no charge. Now that's great customer support .

Wow, now that is what I'm talking about I like that it make me feel that I'm glad that I have two of the .45s.

I bought the XDs as well as ordering a Crossbreed IWB holster and the 2" belt for a complete carry package. I love the pistol and the Crossbreed is finally for real the last holster I will have to buy for this handgun. Like everyone who has owned and CC a handgun I have more holsters than handguns from buying what was advertised as being the best available which of course was not the case. Since buying the Crossbreed and wearing it I have found it to be JUST as advertised and I can and do wear it all day and never know it's there it's so comfortable. It fits against my body like a good pair of gloves fit your hands. I wear an undershirt and then my CCW and a light shirt on top and it is totally concealed and being so comfortable it makes wearing it all day a pleasure now rather than a literal pain as some of the other holsters I have tried. Also with the ability to adjust the pressure holding the handgun in the holster makes it the ideal and last holster to ever have to buy.

The XDs was recommended by a friend and is on my short list. It's great to know that they take care of their customers.

I carry an XD-40 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster, stoked with Hornady Critical Defense ammo. I have not had one problem with my XD.. I had a Ruger woodsman .22lr pistol I got secondhand, and Ruger fixed it and sent it back at no charge. these companies know what customer service really is.

Love seeing some good old American companies that still know how to take care of it's customers, the right way. :dance3:

You should give Comp-tac a look. I have a pair (one for my Kahr PM9 and one for Glock19/26) and absolutely love them. It's what I like to call the Crossbreed, evolved.

Viridian & xds

I'm glad you mentioned holsters, I purchased a viridian cl5 so now I'm trying to find an iwb, i have a calco that works but i would love a crossbreed. Also I'm left handed, adding another complication.

So far I've had no issues with my Beretta, and from what I hear, it's lucky I haven't. I understand their support is near terrible. Good to hear an American company that gets it done.

(Now that I think of it, American companies DO get it done. When I called Armalite about ordering a spare piston for my AR180, a new one showed up along with a spare serviceable one AND a spare cylinder. I called them and the tech said "yeah I had them in my spares box, I figured you could use 'em". Gotta love that.)

Hopefully this is still somewhat on topic, just a little. :)

The "Evolution" from Crossbreed to the Comp-Tac is in the form of clips, modular build and and options on the build. Your being left hand "shouldn't" be a problem for most holster makers but if you look at the options on the Minotaur you'll see that they are wide. The slim belt clips are pretty amazing (the old school wide ones are, well, just old school and sure they work but they are bulky) and Comp-tac, just as Springfield/Ruger/Armalite (and surely Crossbreed) have shown, knows how to take care of its customers.

Holsters

I found and ordered a holster from hiddenhybridholsters.com they have an iwb/owb kydex that accommodates the viridian cl5. I ordered it before I read your post, I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the info.
