Ok..i'll give you the quick rundown..i'm also from upstate ny. NY only offers Concealed Carry..no other. Every County in NY has just a little differen't rules..but in general if you have restrictions placed on your permit, they are just administrative. That means a judge placed them on your permit but you still have a full concealed carry permit. If you get caught carrying outside of your restrictions you can have your permit revoked by the judge..BUT..you can not be arrested and your not in trouble. So...if you have on your permit, "hunting, fishing, hiking" whatever...you CAN carry your gun to and from loaded and concealed on you going to your hunting site, or fishing site, or hiking... None of what i said applies to NYC.
