sorry if repeat .. 327 Caliber info / experience

thinking this might be a good size / caliber for small weak hands and very small frame woman ... I didn't come up with any info on search on it so I'm looking for feedback / info as to experience with it and maybe recommendations as to choices,

More energy than .38 with similar recoil... or roughly 80% of the energy of a .357magnum with about half the recoil, trouble is that they put it in slimmer/smaller and lighter frames than even the .38s so when I tried my friend's snubnose .327 I didn't really feel much difference between it and my snubbie .357, granted his was a lightweight one and mine is an all-steel 7 shot with ported barrel.

Other than the cost of the ammo for the 327 Federal ammo.... it would be a fine choice .....but you should keep in mind that it is a very loud report produced by that round...very sharp and very loud... and a real bright flash...

a 327FED 115gr gold dot leaves a Ruger SP101 3" bbl at 1356fps for an energy rating of 469fpe... that's pretty good ballistics.

then there's the Buffalo Bore 327FED 130 Heavy Hard Cast (Keith) round leaving that same Ruger at 1291fps putting out 481fpe...

ya, I'd say that the 327 fed round is a decent enough round for self defense, although many would/may argue in favor of other calibers...

The price for their .327 Fed isn't that much more than for the .32 S&W Long that I shoot. Now if you want an expensive .32" round, try a 32-20 WCF.

You can get .327Fed right now from Federal American Eagle for $26/50 from Midway. While 50 of the 32-20 WCF from Remington is $45 from Midway. I bought 2 boxes locally of .32 Colt Police/.32 S&W Long from Magtech for $25/50. But it is more fun shooting the 32-20 WCF. Talk about a loud round. The .32 S&WL is rated at 705 FPS/108ft-lbs at the muzzle. The 32-20 WCF is at 1210 FPS/325 ft-lbs. While the AE .327Fed is rated at 1500 FPS/500ft-lbs. Too bad my 2 Colts can't fire all three rounds.

I would feel adequately armed with a 327 Magnum. I just wish that Ruger would come out with it in the LCR. That would be a very hot seller.

Interesting note... The nagant revolver which can still be had from surplus dealers under 100 bucks, will chamber and fire these things (along with .32 h&r mags and s&w long/shorts) but I certainly wouldn't recommend it given these are over triple the pressure... I cringed and stood way back when an acquaintance at the range cracked off a cylinder full of them... But it worked and didn't blow up (did split 2/7 cases)... Guess the belgies/ruskies knew how to build em
