Sold all of my handguns

Yes, last week i sold my Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail stainless, in 45ACP; my Browning 1911 .22; and my Taurus 709 Slim 9mm. I'll be 82 years old next month, and I didn't want to saddle my wife with them after I'm gone. Did I make a mistake?

I also sold several hundred rounds of ammunition for them.

It's a little late to second guess now. It's done.

Having known some elderly widows who were left their husbands' guns, I can say only you would know what your wife could handle upon your demise. Some widows can deal with guns, some can't. That's between you two, and I hope that you discussed it together before making a decision.

I hope you kept some form of protection for your family. At 82 years, you are not too old. Last year, my father earned his CWP at the age of 90. He practices on a nearby range with me. I don't see age as an issue, but sometimes health issues makes you hang them up.

My wife would not have any idea what to do with all my firearms,of their value or anything about them if i would just die.
I am betting her family or others would give her poor advice, if any or just steal what they could get their hands on.

The guy made the post 10 days ago, and according to his Link Removed, made two other posts that same day, and one post six days before that, for a total of four posts since joining on 9/4/2016, the same 16 days ago that he made that first post. To the right of his user-name in his post in this thread, you will see that he is credited with having five posts, not four, which indicates that either he deleted one, or a moderator deleted one that he placed sometime between joining and now. The remaining four all appear to be one-line copy/paste jobs that can likely be found by other posters on this site. In fact, one is for sure a copy/paste job from the OP's post in the thread where he copied/pasted it in. The others more likely came from just perusing the forums and copying/pasting a line "he" found here and there for whatever reason tickled "his" fancy.

This "person," or bot, or whatever "he" is, isn't here for conversation, so asking "him" questions will get you nowhere, but it will up your own post-count if that kind of thing is important to ya's, so do as you will.
