So I went to Cabela's the other day (yesterday) and guess what?
They still had Absolutely no 9mm, .40, .45 acp, .357 (and other popular calibers) Whatsoever on their shelves. Thankfully I am prepared enough to survive about a months worth of Zombie Armageddon, but what about most other folks?
When is this freaking 'ammo shortage' going to finally end !? :bad:

Only thing I have been able to find is 12ga game loads. I was lucky enough to find 3 boxes of .40 the other day tho. Bought that instantly

Here in MN I usually get my ammo at Fleet Farm. I went there Friday and they only had some .45 and .22 LR Bird Shot. The guy said they had gotten an order in 3 days ago and it went in a few hours. It has gotten so I do not want to go to the range because I fear I will not be able to restock. The more obummer talks and Big Sis acts the more panic buying and hoarding there is.

So far the ONLY positive thing I seen that obummer has done is that he has increased ammo and gun sales. Each time he opens his mouth the sales seem to go up.

Where I live in nc the only thing I've had issue finding is 9mm, and that I can find just not for prices I want to pay. 250 UMC for 85.

Well let me amend that, 22lr is sparce as well, its around but too rich for my blood. I have a decent stash of it so I'm not too worried over it. Also since I sold my 22 I don't shoot it often, only when Im out with someone that has a 22.

All the big box stores near me are generally out of everything, save shotgun shells. I have been able to find some online (thanks Slickguns) and have a pretty sufficient stock of all that I need. It seems like some of the online prices are starting to drop, which tells me (hopefully) ammo is getting easier for them to obtain.

Cabelas had some ammo I wanted online yesterday. Used this to find it: http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/45acp/

My small local dealer has a one-box-per-caliber-per-day limit. He had the 45ACP Hornady TAP and some brass FMJ I needed. No killer markup either. He let me buy both, since I didn't appear to be hoarding :) He's seen people drive hours and max out credit cards to stockpile ammo. Luckily he wants to keep local customers happy.

It's not so bad here anymore. I've been able to get .223, 5.56, 9mm and .45. Only one box of .223 and 5.56 per customer each visit and two boxes of 9mm and .45.

Wherre is this ammo shortage you speak of ? I had not noticed it yet, Not sure what the issue is? If I feel like taking my son out to shoot we just go into the can labeled 22lr and blast away at soup cans and paper targets. But seriously what day did you go to Cabelas on I know around here if you go on the day they stock ylou can usually get just about any flavor needed just not in any large quanity. Really found it quite funny when the sales associate at Cabelas told the pawn shop owner he could not purchase 10 1600 round packages of mini mags. Seems like things are becoming available just not in mass supply. Good Luck

I was lucky enough to get two boxes of 100 9mm winchester. Going to hold on to it like it was gold. Have a box of 100 40s and two boxes of 100 38s Just going to sit on them and see what happens!

I read an article the other day. They talked about DHS buying 1.6 trillion rnds. They also stated that set of civilian purchases, they estimated we have latched onto around 2.4 trillion. Real hard to stock shelves when everyone is buying bulk and stocking up for whatever.

No problem getting hollow points, just target ammo. A local gun shop has all popular handgun calibers in target loads, except 9mm and .22lr and I picked up some .380, 40SW and .45ACP.

I have enough self defense ammo to fill all the magazines I own for my home defense and carry guns twice over. Don't need any more than that. In fact, it's probably a life time supply of SD ammo.

For practice, I reload. I have 700 rounds of 9mm and 550 rounds of .45ACP that I made in the last week sitting on the shelf in big plastic jars like red-neck jelly beans. I have components enough to make another 1,000 rounds of 9mm and 500 rounds of .380.

I bought the components late last summer when they were plentiful and on sale. I figured, with the election coming, and Romney looking un-electable, it was going to get totally crazy. Cost me about $250.00 to lay in the stock of bullets, powder and primers for 2,500 rounds of ammo. I already had lots of brass (2,000 9mm, 1,000 .45ACP, lots of .380 and .357 as well).

Meantime, I'm not spending any money anyplace on ammo. If there was ever a time to have an ammo factory at home, this is it.

I need to assemble my groung hog ammo for the summer. That will take me a couple of pleasant afternoons.

That said, right now, bullets are as hard to find as ammo. Glad I don't need any. I hope this cools down over the next year. I'll have shot all the practice ammo by this time next year.

Yes MN is picked over in the metro. People have the trucking schedules down. Fleet farm in Brooklyn park got 250,000 rounds and gone in 4 hours. 50,000 the next week and same thing.
I've ears northern MN has been in stock.

I initially bought off armslist.com from fellow MN for $17 a box of 9mm when it was at its worse but not everyone wants $22-25 a box a 9mm and $14+ for a box of .223. I refuse to pay it!

I've been dropping in cabelas regularly and mornings are where it's at they restock at 5am.

Even when the few who do find the Ammo. they want, the price has been jacked up around twice the price it was before all this anti-firearm stuff got rolling. What I find crazy is the people still buying it at them high prices. They sure must be needing that high priced Ammo.

It will not end.

The only ammo I have bought since the craziness started was a crate ( 880) of 7.62X54R. At a price of $198 delivered. Now I'm seeing it at a ridiculous price of $139 a half crate ( 440 ) plus shipping.
