What are y'all thoughts on it?

I'll get back to you on that, once it gets approved for sale in Mass - probably by midsummer, according to the folks at S&W. I'd like to get a chance to rent one and see how it handles.

Very impressed! Bought one for my wife in 9mm. I figured the grip would be too small...nope, wondered about accuracy...I can shoot it as well or better that my M&P 40c, trigger...MUCH better than my 40c. It is a tad large for a pocket pistol, but slim and comfy to carry. I'm sold enough that I'm on a waiting list for one in 40 cal. Here's a pic or to for size comparison with my 40c:

Lots of good reviews from folks who have tried them out and I know a Beretta fanatic who got one and is extremely impressed with it, enough to be buying a second within weeks.

I bought one and have thus far put about 150 rounds through it. So far I am very happy with performance! No issues yet.

My main carry gun is a Glock 19. I love it, but there are times I want something that is thinner and a little lighter. This gun seemed to fit that need for me. No offensive recoil and a pleasure to shoot. My ONLY complaint is that one can only buya maximum of 8 round magazines. The gun was designed to be easy to shoot, easy to conceal and handle. It does all of those well!!

DEFINITELY worth considering. :)

Salesman at mackey gun shop saturday said they sold their last one friday i was in there and the man that bought alreading sending it back. the extractor broke on it and never fired a shop. he told me to wait to get all the bugs worked out. i grab the blue gun and it felt great. best feeling single stack 9 out there my opinion. but i really was looking for a double stack anyways. i went xd. i like the trigger better then the m&p. dont let it distract you though, just sharing info i was giving on the shield. arkie, did it come with exchangable grips like the big bother?

It's currently the most popular pistol on the Florida gun show circuit. Tough to get down here. It hasn't been out long enough to hear any feedback yet but I'm sure some will come trickling in. I don't believe I've ever heard a real complaint about any M&P pistol so I'm sure it's a safe bet.

I'm waiting on a .40 cause I don't want to add 9mm to my ammo inventory.

All reviews I have read are good. It's based on a tried and true platform and shares a lot of components with the bigger M&P's. I really like the trigger on my M&P .40 and wouldn't want anything heavier.

Just my 2 cents worth.

You made a wise choice. I have the same combo; 40c and Shield 9mm. Thet were met for eachb other.

I held one yesterday my local gun store and it was certainly compact. I'm in the market for a single stack .40 but this didn't feel very good in my hand. I much prefer my M&P 40c. How do you think the new shield compares to Kahr's new CM and PM pistols?

I just bought the M&P about a week and a half ago and I love it, just got my n82 tactical holster and now it's my perfect CC. I put about 100 rounds thru mine with no issues. I definitely would recommend one, if you can find one. The .40 seems to be a myth , I have not even heard of any LGS in my area that had one in a .40 yet.

I was planning on buying me one next Friday but I also can't find one anywhere.. When are they going to start shipping them again?

I just bought it and all i can say is the p in M&P stands for PERFECTION blows all other single stack striker fired pistols to ****. This gun is truly amazing and a work of art. For the money u spend u def get ur money worth. GJ S&W the boys are back in town. I got 1 complaint and thats why havent they mastered a holster yet for this bad boy

The 9mm is very well built and I love the trigger. I found a Taguas iwb holster that fits great.leather...hope to find a kydex soon.

I live in CT i purchased it at a local gun shop for 475 hes high priced but around here they are being sold out everywere. He had one in stock and i bought it. Really happy i did cleaning it is like changing batterys its cake.

And the holster comment i didnt relize it but desantis has a really great IWB holster and a bunch of other holsters for this gun i just got one in and it fits great. If you got any questions about it let me no i put quite a few rounds through it without a problem
