Slide-fires

Who has one, who likes them? Shot one the other day and wasn't really a fan. Do you think they're worth the money before they're either banned or adopted into an NFA category?

Cool concept and would be fun to own, but finding a range to let you do it is nearly impossible, has to be private. Only class 3 permit holders get to do it.

Downside is you need a really good barrel. A standard AR will go from 5000 round life to like 1000 or less with slide fire. Must barrels aren't designed for automatic fire. 1-3 clips per range trip and you'll be out of a barrel pretty quick.

I disagree. I have one on one of my ARs and you can be quite accurate with it in short bursts. My 17 y/o son can handle it very accurately as well. Now it's not for continuous use I agree, but in the "locked" position your weapon fires exactly as normal. If the occasion arises where you need to sweep several Zombies at once you just pull the pin and let her rip!
It comes with a letter from BATF that declares it is legal because there are not any mods done to the weapon or trigger. I can see the Gvt banning "sliding stocks" though, anything is possible right now.

I like mine. Two and three round bursts, man-size target, most rounds on target. Fun and, if things get bad, will come in handy.
