Sighting in distances for your CCW

I've seen lots of ballistic/trajectory info for pistol rounds zeroed @ 25 yards & beyond. However, I have no interest in sighting in my CCW that far out & beyond. I'm more interested in arms reach & out to maybe 15 yards. How do others sight in their CCW pistols?

3,5,7 Yrd line. Once ya got that down, practice, practice, practice at the 3,5,7 yrd line. I would suggest possibly taking some classes in your area concerning defensive shooting. Invest your time in training wisely. You will not have the time to think it out when the stuff hits the fan, you'll revert back to your training.

Oh and Welcome.

mappow and cluznar have pretty much hit the nail on the head, particulary what mappow said about practicing defensive shooting. That's more than just target shooting, but it doesn't have to be anything real fancy if you can't afford formal training. You can accomplish your own very good defensive training with a little imagination, minimal materials and very little effort.

If your pistol has fixed sights set at the factory how exactly are you going about "sighting them in"?

For my carry gun and steel challenge I sight in at five yards.
That said, I rarely find that I need to touch the site adjustment on a pistol. I shoot enough that I know how much to hold up or down for different distances.

7 & 15 yards for me. I'm thinking that anything farther I can walk away from the threat. I don't fiddle with the sights. I shoot my bow instinctually and am pretty accurate. Therefore, I am trying to transfer that skill to handguns.
