SIG SAUER P250 - Is it really worthy of the Sig Sauer label?

Hello fellow enthusiasts, I, not unlike many of you, have developed a slight gun acquisition problem. I have looked my beloved bride square in the eyes on more occasions than I care to lay claim to with the heartfelt statement that goes something like this "Well honey, I finally can say that my collection is complete, I cannot imagine me needing to spend any more money of firearms" and you know what? I thought I meant it! Well at this stage of the game I have stopped offering such hollow statements as I have come to grips with the idea that there is no such thing as enough when it comes to gun purchases.

This brings me to the current thought and topic. I recently came across a Sig Sauer P250 unfired, with night sites, in the original case with the silly little paper sig band on the grip. Now, I had no previous interest in this gun and certainly as a 1911 guy I had no interest in a DAO weapon. However, the price was what I thought to be pretty good at $350.00, so I bought the darn thing. It is chambered in .40 caliber and I have to be honest, it is a little strange. It says Sig Sauer but really bears little resemblance as to feel and general properties of my other Sigs. So, I went to the range and shot this weird gun and I must confess, I was pleased with the overall performance and accuracy. Well, it rivaled that of my 1911's despite the extraordinarily long trigger pull. I have to say that if I judged every gun I have based on value per dollar, this one would top the list. As I am shooting the gun I am giggling to myself "I only paid $350 for this thing". Now I am no gun snob-short of refusing Keltech, Llama, Hi Point etc. but despite what I have read after the acquisition and experience at the range, I really love this gun. I am wondering if anyone else has experience with this particular model and if they felt the same way? As for me, I am keeping mine and would buy a few more at that price if they presented themselves. So those that will post with the negative about their P250's let this serve as my offer to purchase each one for $300. Why $300? Because, I already know I can get one for $350. Make sense? Okay let's hear it...............................

I got a sig 2022 for the same price of gun broker new. Try one of those :)
The 250 is a cool platform and would like to try the 2 sum pack. The first gen had reliability issues, but I think more of the bugs have been worked out in the gen 2. Would be fun to try one

I also have a P-250 C in .40S&W. While it isn't as hard on the wrists as the S&W CS40, it isn't as tame as the S&W 4006 either.

Yes, I read the same. Luckily this one is 2nd generation. I am disappointed that I cannot get the Xchange in 45. I believe based on what I read that you can only go down from the .45 but not up to a .45. If someone knows better I would sure like to be wrong on this point

I must say that I am not a huge fan of the .40 and see that as the only downfall. See my post on the Xchange to .45, which is my pistol caliber of choice.

You have a keeper, enjoy. I have a P250c in 9mm and it is a pleasure to shoot, better trigger than any of the other pistols I own.

Sig P250

I have used a Sig P250 FS in .45 APC for my EDC for the last year, I love it! Once you get used to the long trigger pull of a DAO it cant be beat.

At 5'9" and about 135, I'm a pretty small guy. The p250c in 9mm is one of about 4 handguns I'm considering as an EDC. Any issues with the weight as far as carry goes?

I had a P250c in 9mm and totally loved it. I sold it to step up a bit and now I really miss it and regret selling it. The trigger made it a great defensive/wife gun and it was dead on accurate. If I come across one of these for $350 I would buy it again! The only down side...it comes with only one magazine and Sig mags are pricey!

I've got a P250C in .40 and it's a nice shooting gun. Long trigger pull, but it's accurate as hell and not much recoil. You got a great deal.

I bought the P250 in 9mm then I bought the exchange kit in .45 . If this is what you meant by not being able to go up to a .45 ,I would guess your information is wrong. If you can find the exchange kit now.
