Sig p250

Im looking to buy my first hand gun. Any thoughts on the Sig P250 9mm?

They are a nice pistol and you can get into one for relatively cheap. I've owned one, a sub compact in 9mm. The nitron finish is tough as nails and it is another good looking pistol from sig. fit and finish are nice. The only gripe some folks have about them is the DAO trigger. It is a long pull before it breaks, but it is smooth as glass. It doesn't have a safety since it has the DAO trigger which some people favor.

Overall it is a nice little gun you can get in a variety of sizes and calibers (look into the 2sums).

Great idea plagued with development and quality control problems as well as the only pistol tested to fail the ATF trials for a new service pistol.

Great gun. I have it in the 45. I really enjoy that you can change calibers & sizes for $250.00. Or just buy the set regular & compact for $600.00 as opposed to just the compact for $425.00. Although it had QC issues with the early models they have ironed these out. As far as I'm concerned there is no equal!

Ive got the Sig 250 two-sum. I like it and have been impressed with its accuracy and the action.

I have the p250c in .45 acp. I love it. I'm looking at buying the subcompact conversation in 9mm.
Can't wait till they release a .22.

It does have a DAO with a long trigger pull but after firing hammerless revolvers I'm use to it.
The trigger pull in smooth as glass, and ALWAYS breaks at the same point. I love the quick caliber change, and the nitrate finish is amazing. Mine does not have the night sights. But I will get them on the 9mm.

Mine with 2 mags cost me 420$ new in box.

I have the 250 in 45 full size, 9mm compact and 9mm sun compact. The two conversions cost me 150 each, used.

I like all three, long trigger pull.

I had a fs p250 .45...smooth trigger but i sold it. I prefer da/sa myself. I think p250 is a great value but it seems the appeal is designed towards various departments as a fleet gun. Transferability of slides, frames etc... I liked the feel of the p229 and the all metal frame better.

Love my p229 also, and sp2022....just recently got the p250 2sum in 9mm so far I like it very much. Don't let dao scare you, the trigger is sweet. If ya like a glock trigger the effort to fire is basically the same, just longer reset. I have no problems with double taps though

I just bought a P250C a few weeks ago. Got mine in .40 S&W. Super easy to strip and clean, interchangeability of the slides was a major selling point. Also, you can use FS mags in a Compact, or Compact slides in Subcompact with what they call the x-grip. Basically a little rubber adapter that goes on to the bottom of the mag. Allows you to get more bang for your buck (please pardon the pun) with a greater capacity mag.

DAO trigger is very long, but super smooth. Just takes some practice to keep on-target. First few mags, I had 2 failure-to-feeds in each mag. But I think the mag spring was just really tight because I was new. As I ran some more rounds through, and the problem went away.

Good luck on your decision.

I took my P250C .40S&W to the range for the first time last week. All rounds in the 8, 9, or 10 ring. But the recoil was worse than the Colt Defender Plus in .45ACP. Still a good gun though.

This gun tends to have quality issues. You either get a good one or a lemon. The ejector broke on my brand new P250 after 5 rounds of standard 115 gr 9mm ammo. It also had the wrong rear sight installed (front and rear were not a matched pair so you had to aim at 12:00 6" above the bulls eye to hit the center of the target). Sig did a great job of the repairs and turned it around fairly quickly. Now the gun is shooting reliably but the LONG trigger pull makes it difficult for inexperienced shooters to shoot accurately.
