Sig or Glock

I'm looking at buying my first gun for concealment purposes. I have a Sig 226 and love the thing, but I don't think I would enjoy using that as my EDC. I am looking at the Sig Sauer P229 Elite Dark (.40) or the Glock 23. Obviously there is the price point difference, but I'm not too worried about that...it is an investment after all. So I am just looking for people who have shot both or one or whatever and what your preference is and why! Also specific holsters for concealed carry as well. Thank you all!

For an EDC I would go with the G23 with night sights. Supertuck IWB. I have owned mine for years. Thousands of rounds without a single malfunction. Doesn't get any better IMHO. Sig's are nice guns but I think the Glocks are more suitable for EDC.

I currently carry a Sig 228, but am in the process of switching over to a Glock 27 now. Another 500 rounds or so, and I'll be ready to switch.

Another +1 for the Supertuck IWB.

Go with the Glock but go for the G27. I have Rugers, S&Ws, a Kimber, and several Glocks but for EDC I always go back to the G27.

My wife bought a sig p250 compact .45 ACP and I carried it concealed for the first a couple of months ago and I really liked it. Now I'm trying to find another set of sights for it.

Of the two, I prefer the SIGs, but try to compare the two side-by-side, loaded, if possible.
A fully loaded 226 or 229 is a bit heavier then your average Glock. Only you can decide what's OK or too much.

With a good holster, either can be managed, but what's good for me probably / may be not good for you.

The Glock is going to be lighter and require less maintenance than the Sig. But it always boils down to what you are most comfortable and proficient with.

Selling my XD40sc to pay for a g23 or g27. I have a g35 and want to be able to utilize the same magazines. Love my glock.

The P229 is just a bit smaller that the P226, I have the P229 in 9mm Dark Elite. Daily carry, zero malfunctions, you CAN bet your life on it.

I have noticed that some may prefer the G27 over the 23, which is fine but please before you buy at least hold each gun and shoot them if possable, I have had both, the 23, and 27, the 27 has not nessessarly a bad recoil but being its smaller the muzzle flip is excessive, you can put the little mag extentions on which helps but if your going to do that you may as well have the 23, markedly easyer to shoot and get back on target,

I've carried Glocks, revolvers, 1911s and even a P220.

I have a P220, P238, and P938.

I have a Glock 23, 27, 30, 36.

It is all about what grip, weight, capacity and caliber that you prefer. This summer, I've been carrying a P238 and my P938 (even though I've only put 225 rounds through the P938). It's very comfortable to carry IWB so I do one pocket and one IWB carry.

I go for the Sigs. I have two. Both in Crossbreed IWB small-of-the-back. Full frame auto, so what? 12+1 means I need carry no magazine.

If you're not gonna carry a 1911 for EDC I would say go with Glock. SIG is a great duty weapon but the Glock is a combat weapon great for abuse and edc. It won't fail you. I own no Glock and I still gotta give it its propers.
