Sickening: Westboro Baptist to Protest Funerals of Connecticut Shooting Victims

The way anti-gunners have handled of the Connecticut shooting has been one of the most disturbing things ever. Within hours of the tragedy they turned it into what they hope is their opportunity to finally pass another gun control law.

The tweets of Michael Moore, the press releases of Mayors Bloomberg, Menino, and public statements of Democrat Reps bear witness to this.

But perverted attempt to make gains from the Connecticut shooting became even more pronounced when Westboro Baptist Church announced they will picket the funerals of those killed on Friday. Why? -- because doing so gives them the opportunity "to praise God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment."

Like the leftists who are shameless in their attempts to use the suffering of the shooting to further their ideological agenda, the folks at Westboro Baptist have found the spotlight once again. And this time, their 15 mins of fame will give them the opportunity to mock the families who lost members at the hands of an absolute mad man on Friday.

God bless the families of those who were torn apart on Friday.
 
These people have no shame. They will take advantage of the grief of others to gain free advertising for their cause. The press has tired of the military funeral protests so this "church" has branched out and is rewarded with more press. When will we learn not to "feed the troll".
 
I do not know how anyone could try to make hay out of the tragic death of these children. As Oldgrunt said it is bad enough that the anti-gun people are trying to use the senseless death of these kids to further their cause but this church has reached a new low.

They say it takes all kinds to make this world. But I could do without these people. They make a mockery of religion. One day God may come down on this "so called" church and execute his judgement on them. The pastor there must be a follower of Jim Jones! I wonder if this church supports abortion?
 
As a pastor I find it insulting for this group of individuals to call themselves a church. Their actions are a reproach to everything I hold dear. Christ is our judge. He has never nor will He ever surrender judgement to man. The folks at Westboro are a classic example of why.

Having had to deal with them in person, I would say they are more of a cult than a church.
 
Sounds like the biker community will be mounting a force to be reckoned with to the WBBC. I say let the biker community pillage them like a Viking would and then call it good. :)
 
Fully agree with SR40C, the westboro bastard cult is just that, a cult.

And being a member of the Patriot Guard, I have had several dealing with these nut jobs. Sure the local chapters as well as the LEO's will be gearing up to make sure their presence is not a factor.
One of the ways they were dealt with in the past was the local PD at one location told them they would NOT provide them security, that if they wanted to protest, they were on their own. They didn't show up.

Good for the LEO's. Shows that the nut jobs are cowards. Maybe they will get their lunch handed to them. I do not always think that way but their are some who deserve to get their ***** kicked. Then we could say that it was God executing His judgement.
 
While I don't agree with their actions, believing that I would express my frustrations with America differently, I'm thankful to live in a country where the freedom to speak that view is recognized. Let's be careful not to mimic the libs by celebrating the First Amendment only when we agree with the speaker, in a sort of pseudo-tolerance.

While I agree with you on Freedom of Speech, going to have to respectfully disagree on the scope of it. Do you really think these wackjobs 7 or 8 year old kids truly know what they are saying? And where do their rights of Free speech end and the grieving families rights to privacy begin?
Add in the fact that the Patriot Guard is now practicing Freedom of Speech outside their church and guess what? They are trying to sue to have the protests stopped, citing it is disruptive of their right to privacy. Can't have it both ways.

These people are not exercising their right to freedom of speech, they are preaching hatred and pushing their own agenda. The westboro cult is an inbred family of lawyers who have gone on record as stating they use women and children in these 'protests' in order to create lawsuits.
If you have never experienced the pure hatred these clowns spew, I would suggest you attend one of their protests and let me know following.
 
They promised to show up here in Aurora during the memorial for the theater shootings, and didn't. They've promised to show up at other memorials and didn't instead the photoshop themselves into the backgrounds and say they were there.

As for freedom of speech. You have the freedom to speak your mind, but you still have to suffer the consequences of your utterence.
