Should lasers belong on your edc gun

I don’t “aim” with a laser. But I have them on my edc as more of a deterrent in low light etc. I’ve used a laser twice to deter a bad person. For example. An old man told me this one while comparing storing about using a laser. He and I have windows around the outside of our front door. One night at 2am someone wakes him kicking at his front door. As he approaches the door he sends the laser out the window on the side of the door. Both individuals fled like cockroaches. In my opinion, that was a success. That’s what I mean by a laser can be a deterrent
