This is a poll. My opinion is yes. I do believe there may be parameters. Wyoming, Idaho, New Mexico, even Vermont could be possible.
Montana, Utah. Other States. Maybe anywhere? Who knows?

Only 28 years old. A flawless (still) record. His own attorney thinks it may be unwise. I disagree. Give up your career with no bills against you? Perhaps I'm naive.

But George Zimmerman roams the country unabated . Until his Las Vegas stupidity ,so did O.J. Most people are cowards. Big hat ,no cattle. What say you, USA Carry?

By most accounts he reads to be a decent LEO. He may know he did the right thing based on his personal experience, but he more than likely never wants to have to make that call again on the streets of these United States.
Fit or Unfit for duty is not about the man, its about his mind.

The likely hood of him staying in law enforcement is slim in my opinion. As has been said having to make another life and death decision for him may be more difficult. The truth be know if we change the skin color of those involved this is a non story. Move along no news here.

This is what I think.. I think all of these protestors should live in communities where there are no police....they can police their own streets..in less than five years they will have killed each other off, either buy shooting, or drug overdose, after stealing , and destroying each other's property, or violating each other's women and children.. "They" think police are out to get them... the only people out to do them in are themselves.. if they are not doing drugs, they are selling are selling drugs...
My other thought would be to poll the community and ask them if they want police, or they want to live in a lawless community..

Its fairly easy to see how far down the ladder this action has pushed the black race, in the eyes of the rest of the country.. like they do in their own communities, they are destroying the very thin string that binds them to our society... they have pulled that string so tight it will break soon and these people will no longer be a part of our society.. their level of respect has always been questionable, but this is just another example of why they are not respected by the rest of the country.. Even African nationals who live in this country want nothing to do with Afro-Americans. I cant blame them...

I think he should go into private security & training and make a MILLION dollars. :dance3:

One of the main reasons I left law enforcement was the revolving door of the courts and the corruption of politics. After I was involved in a large "righteous" drug bust (early 80's) the DA and DEA cut a deal with those we arrested; even after they made very public threats on me and my partner. A short time after their release they fled the country and my partner & I had professional contracts taking out on our life.

Both of us had multiple attempts made on our lives. The first attempt on me was a drive-by. Later, I had to always check my car for bombs & tampering. I even had move out of the state and go underground (THREE times) when my family began being targets of intimidation. The local PD were no help at all and neither were the courts. It took several years of state & federal authorities doing an investigation to get things to cool down a little. But. every year I could count on little reminders that they were still out there. It wasn't until after the South American cartel leader was killed by military forces that things finally ended.

I loved being in specialized LE work. But, I would never go back and endanger my family again! :frown:

I can almost guarantee you that Officer Wilson has this very thing on his mind. He knows that his family is likely to be endanger if he ever gets back into LE work. There is a target on his back by the media and black racists hate groups. He may be able to go into private security & training; or he may have to pursue other things. But, it's probably a given that he will have to move out of state and go underground for awhile.

It took me over twenty years before I allowed myself to come back on the radar screen. He may not have to disappear that long. But, he will have to lay low & out of LE work for quite awhile if he wants to have a safe and relative quiet life for his family.

Doesn't really matter the color of skin in any situation, this one included. There is/was no story here... Until Sharpton's Raiders hit the streets.

He's in a tough spot. He's not getting a severance package from Ferguson. His new wife is also a LEO there. If she intends to stay in Ferguson I don't see anywhere he could work.

Strange way to word the poll. Should and can?
Can he be hired. Yes, he can. As far as I know his resignation from the Ferguson PD does not in any way shape or form disqualify him from seeking employment in another town, city or state as a cop. He will not be charged so therefore he has no criminal record and free to pursue a career in another department.

Now should he is a tough question for which I voted no. He is a marked man and I'm afraid the media will follow this guy where ever he goes just like they did Zimmerman. I think under the circumstances no city would hire him right now. He's way to hot. Maybe after several years have gone by....maybe, but then again maybe not. I think his career as a cop is over.

I've run the poll on 2 gun forums. So far the vote is quite positive, 25 yes, 4 no, 3 undecided.

Very few gun forums will let me run the poll. But, I believe the percentages on those sites would fairly mirror these 2.

Wilson's record is clear. His career, if he wishes of course, should continue.

I didn't vote in the poll but anywho..........

As a Chief of Police or County Sheriff would you want to deal with that kind of baggage?

Most I have talked to said the same thing: "Hell No!!"

All hat and no cattle? I guess you're not to familiar with the young black "gang banger" mentality.

I lived and worked in Little Rock, AR during the mid to late 90's and into 2000 and during this time LR was the gang banger murder capital of the USA for 9 years from 1990 until 2000. Heck, HBO even did a special called "Bangin' in the Hood" about it.

During this time I worked with several black women ( there was about 500 women at the plant ) who's son either killed someone in a drive by or was killed by someone in a drive by. During the Summer of '98 it seem like every weekend one of their sons was being killed.

Summer of '99 I was getting gas at a Exxon station at lunch time on payday and a ghetto cruiser stopped out on the street and the passenger flashed gang signs at another ghetto cruiser that was getting gas at a different island and after a short exchange of gang signs the backseat passenger stuck a 9mm out the window and fir about 13 rounds at the car and gas pump.

This was done at about 12:20pm on Friday on a bright sunny day with several hundred people in viewing range of the event. Luckily no one was hit except for the store's windows, a couple of car doors and a trash can or two.

This same bunch wouldn't hesitate for a second to pop a cap on Wilson.

All hat and no cattle? Maybe where you live but not down in the 'Hood.

Paul

^ Thank you for your opinion. As we see, you are in the vast minority.
And I drove through the 'hood every day for 20 years. Not even a scratch, Bro!

Again, big hat, no cattle. Next!

You have your location posted as Miami, FL and stated that you drove through the 'Hood everyday without even a scratch but unless either your blind or had your head up you butt you've seen enough crap happen to know there are plenty of people in the 'Hood that are all cattle and no hat.

Heck, the 'Hood in Miami is one of the most dangerous places on earth with only 1 out of 5 homicides ever being reported and only about 1 in 10 of the ones reported being solved.

All cattle, no hat Bro. Next!

Paul

Another sore loser! Next!

19 to 2 now for Darren. Looks good. Stengun refuses to vote. To busy buying hats or cattle or both in Hog Jaw! , I presume!

Murders per 100,000 population:2013

St. Louis 55
New Orleans 53
Baltimore 35
Miami 17

See, our 'hood is lookin' better! Still lots of improvement to go, I grant!

Now, we would like some more votes and opinions from someone other than Stengun, who has become very cumbersome and a tremendous bore.

Anyone willing to tackle the task? :help:

Sten and I have crossed swords on several occasions about different subjects. This time I will have to agree with him concerning Darren Wilson remaining as a police officer. To remain in Ferguson would be an invitation for someone to shoot him or another officer.. Even the Chief of Police is said to believe, along with the other officers, that he would be a danger to them all. Consequently, for the sake of his wife and himself, it would be more prudent that they leave Ferguson after she has her child. If Wilson were to become a police officer anywhere in the next few years, his life will be in danger. For that matter, wherever he goes, the media will ruthlessly play it up and he will be in danger. There are too many race-baiters out there to just let him go into obscurity with his family.
Coyote Blue, you seem to take exception to anyone disagreeing with you and your thoughts on the subject. In case you didn't know, when you ask for an opinion poll, people are free to give THEIR opinions and not parrot what you think is the TRUE opinion (yours). Just sayin'...........
