Shotguns: The Best Home Intruder Killing Tool Ever Made

I bought a less expensive mossberg 500 marketed under the name maverick. I couldnt be happier with it. Just load it with #1-#4 BUCKSHOT, a white light" and hope you never have to use it.

Cheaper than a Mossberg 500? They must be giving them away.

I agree with all. My home defense includes my "behind the pillow FN 5.7 semi" and a 12g with #1 buck. The 12 is a Pardner Protector that is an exact knockoff of a Remington 870---I even use the Remington manual for any and all info--Cost $200. I use it every so often to "dispose" of tired targets and never a problem. In my home, I lock bedroom door and have door stopper and set up in an ideal position where I can see door. Only my wife and I so no need to "investigate" any bumps in the night in rest of house. Everything is replaceable and insured--I am insured but not replaceable. If the "bumpee" gets my stuff before LEOs arrive and does not try to enter bedroom--it's his. If he tries to defeat my bedroom door, HE IS MINE!!!

Who in their right mind uses that title for an article?

A shotgun is great if you are stationary, but, in my house there are a couple corners where a shotgun is too long to make the turn without it being a liability.

I bought the same shotgun awhile back cost me $190 and fitted it with a spot light also, the shot pattern is really great, sits right beside my bed just in case.

And what’s wrong with the title? Someone breaks into your home and what are you going to do, invite them for milk & cookies or shoot the criminal, and if you shoot the criminal don’t you shoot them for keeps, dead men tell no tales.

A shotgun as a home defense weapon think about this, with #4 busk shot it won’t go through the wall and kill someone on the other side which a 38 or 45 might do and just the sound of you racking a round in the chamber would give the criminal real cause to bag *ss real quick. As for going around corners I agree with you though, it’s an individual preference.

If anyone hears you racking there better be 2 of them and you just shot the first one. Always keep one in the hole no chance of short strokeing and screwing it up, and why whould you give away your position.

Edit to add: a shotgun built right can go around corners just fine getting rid of the stock on mine was money well spent I shoot it just as good now that I have practiced with it and close range. If i need to shoot slugs out far and need a stock something tells me I am not Justified anymore.

If someone is that eager to kill someone other than being stupid they are in my opinion unstable. Worse than being a sheep dog they are a wanna be attack dog. You don't invite them in for cookies, nor do you draw on the girl scout selling them. Articles like this make gun owners sound like the pharmacist that shot the guy trying to run him then emptied his magazine into the guy on the floor and reloaded and shoot some more. The second amendment isn't a license to kill, the goal should be to stop the threat. If as a result the perp does, that is their fault for committing the crime. You wanting to kill someone that breaks into your house makes you no better than they are.

And for hells sake, this is them trying to sell you crap, what's next? Labeling their bullets cop killers? That worked out so well last time. That was the anti gun people being stupid, this is gun owners being stupid.

I’m trying to wrap my head around your post. Where did I say the 2A was a license to kill? My original post was the usefulness of a shotgun in home defense. I’m not eager to kill someone, but if you’re not prepared to defend your home when a criminal enters it, then I guess you’re the sheep dog and just roll over and let them take anything they want and also harm your family while there at it. Also your quote, “You wanting to kill someone that breaks into your house makes you no better than they are” Are you a liberal ACLU nut case or just F-ing stupid.

Sigh. No wonder the public thinks we're all bloodthirsty nuts.

You are definitely wrong, if you think that a person doesn’t have the right to defend his family and home is considered bloodthirsty, then it’s up to every one of us to enlighten them every way we can. I’m not bloodthirsty, but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to lie down and let the political correct left wing antigun pundits (Bundy) take away my 2A rights. I’ll do everything I can to protect that right as long as I can. I will protect myself, my family and home 24/7.
