shooting to the right

First off I just got a new XDM40 my first auto pistol. I grew up shooting my Dads revolvers and of course rifles. I am neither eye dominant, both eyes have the same rx.
I am pretty much left handed meaning I write and eat left handed but growing up my brother was right handed and all his hand me down ball gloves and etc were of course right handed. So I learned to do everything else right handed. I learned early on that I could shoot my rifles and revolvers just as well with either hand, which comes in handy when hunting.
Now my dilemma. When shooting my new xdm40 I noticed I tend to shoot to the right. And again it didn't matter which hand I shot with it was still to the right. I had some tight groups even doubling three of the holes. I know I need more practice as this was just my trial run and only shot one mag of 16 rounds at 45 ft using cheap blaser ammo. Are there any suggestions on stance or anything I can do to pull these back to the left? I was in some shots at almost 3 inches to the right so I swapped up a little and aimed slightly to the left and closed it up a little, but I have read that certain stance can cause poi to be right or left but can't find where I read that and im not sure if a situation arises if I could remember to aim to the left in the heat if the moment.

Also. Get different ammo. Try the new ammo.
I had some wolf that shot to the right out of my sks. The Winchester ammo was high and golden bear was fine.

Just a thought, I tend to pull slightly to the right with some high-cap mag pistols (stock Beretta 92 is one) because my finger is a little short for a comfortable trigger squeeze. Groups will be reasonably tight, but always slightly to right of center. (at least that has been my self-diagnosis)

For starters you are dominant in 1 eye. Ex has nothing to do with it. Point your finger at something with both eyes opened , then w/o moving it close 1eye , then the other . You'll see that the point moves with 1 eye but not the other .The one that retains the point is your dominant eye .

Next point is that you shouldn't expect any gun to be calibrated to your particular grip , hand size , finger position , right out of the box ! Everyone had a different bone structure ! I don't think stance should be that much of a factor . You should be able to hit from any position. The bad guys won't wait for you to adjust your stance !

This will help all pistol shooters: concentrate on squeezing the gun with just the two middle fingers of the hand holding the grip. Obviously you need to use all fingers, but if you add pressure (note the word pressure, not a samurai grip) with just those two fingers, you'll find your accuracy will increase. This helps prevent you from forcing the gun up, down, left or right when you squeeze the trigger.

Ok, I will get into this one. First off get back at least to 25 yards and shoot from a supported position. Hopefully this will be from a bench rest position and then see where you are hitting. If you are still hitting to the right make a sight adjustment untill you are in the center, but only if this is the ammo that you are going to use for practice all the time. Now shoot some rounds with the ammo that you will carry all the time for self protection and if the sights are off then make the needed adjustment for this ammo. If you recorded your ammount of clik's between your diffrent adjustments then you can click back when useing target ammo and back again when useing carry ammo.
For myself I would adjust it to the carry ammo specks and LEAVE IT ALONE. It can get confuseing going back and forth. So if the weapon shoot's a little right with target ammo SO WHAT . Leave it alone. I won't even get into the effect that the sun can have on the sight's and the problems that this can cause. Shoot and have fun.

Thanks everyone. And I didn't know how to check eye dominance which surprising to me seems to b right eye. Still doesn't change the fact that I shoot pretty much the same left or right. I know I need more practice and time to set down with a qualified instructor which are few in my area, if any. We have one gun club but its limited on memberships. Thanks for all the info I have to keep surfing the net watching videos and reading books. Then just go practice what I read.

My dad is right handed but his dominant eye is his left. Had no problems with it until he got into the army in the mid-50s, couldn't hit a thing with the peephole rear sight on the M1 Garand. A drill sergeant realized what was going on and told him to use his left eye to shoot right handed. They didn't have any left-hand shooter deflectors, so the brass always hit his helmet, but from then on he always hit what he was shooting at.
