A man who had been arrested for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend overpowered an officer inside a police station, grabbed her gun and shot her and two other officers before being killed by police early Friday, authorities said.

All three wounded officers were expected to recover.

Eddie Jones III, 39, of Willingboro, overpowered Officer Ruth Burns inside the station in Gloucester Township, a Philadelphia suburb, police said. He fired at her and two officers who had been in a nearby room and came rushing to aid their colleague. The two officers fired on Jones, killing him.

Where is the political cry going to be to disarm police officers? Shouldn't this be equal with the political cry to disarm Joe Citizen?

I am very pro-cop. But if it can happen to one of them, with their firearm retention training, it can happen to anybody. It is a reminder to all of us to stay aware of who is around us when we CC.

Gotta watch out for gun grabbers.

Open carrying a gun deters some criminals, but it can also attract some criminals, as evidenced here.

i was waiting to see if the media was going to hide the fact that he stole the officers pistol and just show it as another shooting
glad to see my close friends in that station where ok, also i hope this incident doesn't change her mind about being an officer

What now? Do we now ban female cops? This never would have happened to a male cop, right? (Being sarcastic, of course).

Still outcome was wounded officers and arrested shooter, officers were armed, gun free zones this would not to be the case. I do however agree officers could be disarmed and police stations could be a gun free zone that should work. The second sentance is sarcasim.

I know your just kidding, Please Remember: When I started this post I had some reservations, but the safety of the members of USA carry was on my mind.

This incident is under investigation and we should respect this, also, we all should take a moment to pray for the recovery of the wounded. No one out of the circle of
investigators have all the facts, so all we know is that the suspect was a C. O. and gained control of a gun.

I wanted to use this post as a reminder to the members to please be careful and mindful of your weapon at all times, crazy things do happen..
