I can't believe that of the three roommates the enviable position is the one that got shot. He is the only one that probably won't end up in jail, or with a record.

This is a messed up story all around. Maybe getting non-fatally shot which leads to the discovery of a pedophile is not such a bad thing.

Two things come to mind here. First is the wrong roommate got shot, should have been the pedophile and it should have hit him in a certain part of his body. Second is from the article there were four roommates all together. Wonder if the fourth one is still a roommate of the other three. I think I would try to find some new ones quickly. Also the age of these fellows, seems by now they would know better.
