Shall Not be infringed... Really?

"Shall not be infringed" means NO limits on magazines.. NO limits on what kind of a "arm" is "allowed"... and NO limits on who doesn't have the right.

"Shall not be infringed" means the word "allowed" DOES NOT APPLY!!

So, you have gotten me thinking. If all of us are being so emphatic about the "shall not be infringed" section of the Second Amendment...

WHY ISN'T ANYONE FIGHTING THE HUGHES AMENDMENT?

Why has that been on the books for 30 years and NO ONE has done and damned thing about it in all that time? All we're doing right now is saying that they cannot infringe our semi-autos... well, from my view they shouldn't have infringed our full-autos either.

Actually, they started infringing at least as far back as the OK Corral where the Earps took it upon themselves to seize arms while the cowboys on cattle drives were in the city limits of Tombstone. They not only infringed, they killed in the act of infringing, and got away with it. It probably started long before then though.

As far as federal infringements, they go at least as far back as the NFA of '34. Even though it didn't ban weapons outright, having to pay a tax for the "privilege" of exercising your "rights" seems like an oxymoron to me. Again, the federales probably have been infringing a lot further back than that though.

But I'm with you. Allowing the enemy to pick the battleground is self-defeating. We shouldn't be letting them get away with confining the argument(s) narrowly around semi-autos, or even worse, allowing them (and the NRA) to get away with pushing the sporting/hunting/self-defense meme as the only "legitimate" uses law abiding citizens have for owning weapons. It's time to stop the slow retreat that will inevitably lead to utter defeat, and start advancing on the only truly legal grounds we have in our arsenal; the unambiguous, unabridged language of the 2nd Amendment.

V. SUGGESTIONS FOR REDUCING THE GUN RELATED CRIME PROBLEM

The 20,000 to 25,000 gun control laws in the United States[169] have failed to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals and others who misuse them.[170] Consequently, the rate of crime and violence associated with firearms has not been reduced. Present gun control laws range from mere registration of the initial purchase to restrictive licensing, yet the firearm crime problem remains.

Link Removed

If we have 20,000 to 25,000 gun control laws in the United States, that means that the 2nd has been "infringed" upon 20,000 to 25,000 times.
