now i dont know wether to get the g3 or g4 . should i just get4 then put houge grips on it because of the rough texture?i have a 19 gen 4 but hate the grip.i shot ag3 19 before and really liked it.anybody use grips on there g4 26?

I have a bike inner tube on my Gen4 G22. Works really good but it isn't fun trying to install. I say cover that rough sucker with something as mine rubbed me raw in no time.

I think the only cosmetic reason to get the gen4 26 is for smaller grip circumference. thats the only reason i waited on getting a glock. i literally had trouble reaching the trigger while keeping the back strap in the web of my hand. i did not want to sacrifice grip on such a small sized gun. that said i have no additional grip on my gen4 and can shoot 200+ rounds without rubbing my hands raw.

My first-ever handgun is a Glock 26 Gen 4. I've not yet put Talon grip tape on it. I enjoy it very much. Shot 400+ rounds in it without a malfunction.

Talon has two versions of grip tape for the 26...the "sandpaper" (my term) and "rubber" (again, my term) models. I have the rubberized tape on mine.

As I said earlier...just put it on (takes about five minutes) and forget it.

I have the gen3 26. Texture was fine but didn't like the squareness of the grip and the trigger guard. Put the hogue wrap on it and sanded of the corner edge of the guard. Feels great now. Could shoot it all day.

Two things:
1) I guess you are settled on 9mm, but I would go the G27 for more ballistic punch using the same platform. 2) I would go with the Gen 3 due to the greater amount of aftermarket accessories available.

I carry a Gen4 G22 and love it. I looks at both the Gen3 and Gen4 and was initially planning on the Gen3 because it was about $80 cheaper. I finally decided on the Gen4 because of the RTF finish (better grip for concealed carry) and the larger mag release. The changeable back straps are a bonus.

From my perspective it was money well spent.
