SD ammo for LC9 question

I only purchased my LC9 and started carrying last January and the only ammo I have purchased is FMJ so it's now time to get some SD ammo. I don't want to spend a lot of money trying different brands in order to find the right one.....so for you LC9 owners, what has worked well for you in regards to cycling and whatnot?

Hornady Critical Defense is what I carry. Never a problem.

that short barrel means that anything over 100 grs wont be going fast enough to expand reliably in fleshl. get the CorBon 100 gr PowRball. fire a couple of mags of it to establish reliability with your 2 mags, and then practice with something else and reserve the CB's for carry-duty

You need at LEAST 1200 fps, and only plus P 115's in 5" barrels get that, reliably. Every inche of barrel shorter than 5" costs you at least 50 fps of velocity. 1300 fps is a lot more likely to expand after piercing a heavy coat, too.

Hornady Critical Defense cycles fine in my LC9. In fact using same brand for my M&P .40. No problems for either of them.

Yep, Hornady Critical Defense and Corbon Pwrball are good ammo.
