School Board Meeting Tonight on Safety (Gun Issue)

I just came back from a Highland board of education special meeting discussing security since the CT shooting. It was interesting. After discussing the usual (doors locked, cameras, etc.) armed police was discussed. I have to say that overall I was very pleased. Most of the board felt armed security was a definate answer and they would probably include that in their plan of action. There was one board member that said she would go along with the majority but didn't feel good about it. There was also a woman in the audience who was a social worker who had lost her job due to budget cuts. She was a little off if you ask me. She was afraid of police men turning rouge and becoming dangerous to the students. The more she spoke, the crazier she sounded. Most there didn't agree with her. I planned on saying something at some point but when someone said the problem was the weapons and we needed to get rid of them, I almost jumped out of my seat. She really got me going.
