SAF Sues in New York to Void 'Good Cause' Carry Permit Requirement

Got Beretta's?
Here we go.

The Second Amendment Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit against Westchester County, New York and its handgun permit licensing officers, seeking a permanent injunction against enforcement of a state law that allows carry licenses to be denied because applicants cannot show "good cause."

We really need to follow this closely and lend support when needed.

Hopefully, the defendants will dig in their heals so we can get a decision out of the case. Even better if it ends up being appealed to the 2nd Circuit so it would have the widest possible application.

But the defendants might concede, and just issue the permits to avoid a decision. If that happens, and the court holds that the SAF lacks standing, then we don't get much from the litigation, except maybe a model complaint for people to use in their own situations.

Well, Alan Gura is handling the case and just to sit by and let Bloomberg and his money destroy what little rights we have in NY is unacceptable.

I made a donation to the Second Amendment Foundation to show my support. The NRA has written off NY as a lost cause.
And if the Hoplophobes get their way in November:
Worst Case Senerio- Democrats retain power in Albany and they are then in charge of re-districting as this is a Census year,,,,,gun owners in NY will be no different that a resident of Chicago.

Correction - worst case scenario - any incumbent is re-elected - democrat, republican, or other. conservatives are just as much 'hos as liberals.

Life wasn't any better when the republicans ran things in New York.

Anyone who thinks otherwise must be lacking olfactory glands because they can't smell s*** when their head is up someone's a**

Never vote for the incumbent, no good can come from it.

Conversely, the fact of the matter is the anti Gun Crowd is solidly democratic except for 3 senators.
The handwriting is on the wall if Sheldon Silver remains in power in Albany. So Vote you conscience.
Don't even get me started on Andrew Cumo.

The court has already found that the county licensing officer may place restrictions. The licensing officer denied a full carry because the need wasn't met. What has been said in the SCOTUS decisions that their may be reasonable restrictions.I sure hope the game plan works.I believe more future law suits through out the states to follow.
