S&W 908s Carry Question.

Ok, so I bought a Smith and Wesson 908s a while back when I bought my S&W bodyguard (amazing gun) I basically bought it for my wifes home defense while Im at work. Its a 9mm which my wife is comfortable shooting, she says it doesnt kick as much so she felt it was best for her. Anyway, Ive noticed after shooting it a bit, the first trigger squeeze is real long and drawn out, it has a "slick hammer." I like the weapon, all except the long drawn out shot, and mind you, Ive only shot it a hand full of times, the next few shots are easy to go with, you know when its going to fire.
My question is, what are your thoughts on the weapon, and my concern is, really not being able to predict the shot, and I guess its my wifes only discomfort with the weapon, that and for what ever reason, the weapon fires up and to the left just a bit. Not a big issue, and its really only used at the house, if the situation arises, and eventually carried when I get my wife a CPL. Anyhow, Im thinking of getting her a new weapon to carry, something small, but has a bite to it if you know what I mean...Suggestions? Thoughts?

Your wife needs to decide what she's going to carry not you.

That said I carry a S&W 6906 (essentially the same gun) daily and I have no issues with it.
