S&W .357 Model 66-2

Hello

I am new to this forum, but look forward to learning.

So I figured I would start with a question. I have a friend that has offered to sell me a S&W .357 Model 66-2 2 with Pachmayr grips and serial # ADC4603 for $300. He says he has 100 rounds or less through it.

I have never owned a S&W and it looks like a nice gun, but I wonder what the value is on it....finding conflicting information online.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

S&W 66-2 w/ 100 or so rounds fired at $300.00 is a good deal.

Feed it .38 Spec as the primary diet and some .357 158gr once in a while and it will outlast you and I.

I have a model 65-3 in .357 Mag and have had no issues with it. I don't shoot .357 Mag in it all that much, but will once in a while just to remind myself what it will feel like if I do carry it loaded with magnums. It's usually .38 Spec +P Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 or Hornady Critical Defense 38 Spec +P loaded and a pair of speed loaders with Winchester PDX1 in one and Federal 357B 125gr 357 Mags in case I need the added punch... Hope to never need it at all...

Peace...

Three handguns (CZ-82 9mm, CZ-75B .40s&w, Colt Trooper .357Mag) two shotguns (12 guage), a .22 long/short rifle, and .270 rifle....so far.

It will only disappoint you. No one should waste their money on one of these. Please send me the contact info for the seller. I will sacrifice $300.00 to get this gun off the market. (Just kidding)

Seriously - if it locks up tight and is in good shape, jump on it like Rosie O'Donnell on a donut. Personally, I like the earlier series with the hammer mounted firing pin better than the new ones.

As another poster said feed it mostly .38 Specials with a few .357s SD rounds sprinkled in here and there just to get used to it (if you plan to use it for SD). That's the formula most LEOs used when they carried that gun. I have one with a 6" barrel that shoots great. My only issue with it is that I wish it had a 4" barrel.
