Great gun. That's what I carry. Comes with 17 round mag and a 10 round mag.

I just picked one up a couple months ago. I love the gun, but I did have to send it back to Ruger. It would fire with the 10-round mag, but not with the 17-round mag. They ended up replacing the striker mechanism and giving me two new mags.

every time i see a post about the sr9c and hear how great of a gun it is and how everyone loves it it makes me more and more impatient for new york to hurry up with my permit so i can go pick mine up from my local gun store that is on layaway

This gun was my first purchase. Long story short, it went back to Ruger 5 times. The last time around, they replaced the entire thing for me because of so many issues. I still have it and take it to the range, but it is no longer my carry. I went out and bought a Glock 27 which is my new carry, and it's preformed as intended on every shot.

Not knocking Ruger, they are a good company, I just had a lemon apparently.

Curious how long ago you bought it. I know the first ones had a few issues, but it seems like they took care of it. Alot of people rave about them.

Honestly, had I noticed the people reporting problems were the early runs, and not confused some people's dislikes with the full-size versions trigger (apparently the SR9C is actually better than the full size SR9), I would have gotten the SR9C myself.

I know that many people like the sr9c better than the sr9 because the recoil spring on the compact is better. The compact has the two different size springs, not sure the proper name, while the sr9 has the single consistent size spring.

I picked up a slightly used SR9c awhile back, and the sights are off. At 20', its consistently about 3 inches to the right. It groups really well, though. The front sight is visibly not centered on the gun, and I'm wondering what I can use to line it up. I have quite the assortment of tools, just nothing normally associated with handgun maintenance. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Use a brass or wooden dowel and a small hammer and tap the front sight to the right from the left hand side of the slide. Do this at the range and move it a little at a time until you get the rounds to move to the left. So...Lock and load three rounds, select a consistent point of aim, fire three rounds and then safety the gun. Tap the sight, lock and load three rounds...etc. Keep it up until you get the rounds where you need them.

Hadn't considered a wooden dowel. I think you have solved my problem!

This may be common sense to you but also pay attention to the position of your finger on the trigger. 3" is really not all that bad. By moving your finger a tiny bit to the right or left will affect the pulling action which actually pulls the muzzle to a different direction you were aiming at. But if the sight is visibly of center then yes this would also need to be corrected.

I'll make a point to check that next time I shoot it. It may be as simple as adjusting the grip I take on the weapon. Thank you!

Have an all black SR9c and luv it. Over 700 rounds with no problems, FMJ & HP's.
When I first got it I cleaned all the packing grease out of it and oiled it before I shot it. It's accurate, dependable, and manageable recoil. Carry it IWB loaded with Hornady Critical Defense 115gr ammo. Ruger has a hit on it's hands.
Oh yes, did I say over 700 rounds with no issues at all. Gotta like the SR9c.
