Ruger LCR .357

Does anyone here carry this gun as a primary CCW gun? I just put one on layaway, and plan on using it as my "new york reload" when I carry.

I have the .38 special. I really don't like the gun at all. I hate the sights and it's not pleasant to shoot. I use it for instruction only at this point.

Excellent choice. I have a .357 LCR and I love it. I replaced the front site with a Trijicon Big Dot site. Accuracy is excellent and I'm able to get very nice double-tap groups. Mine has the Hogue grip. Shooting a snubbie is never "fun" but this is the nicest one I've come across yet. This is the pistol I carry most often when I'm not working (I carry my LCP or PF9 at work because it fits better in the slacks I wear).

+1 on what B2Tall said .. i did the same thing for front site and love the "Tamer Grips" .. really takes the shock out of it .. you don't feel the .38 specials .. a little on .38+P .. slight sting on the .357 Mag SD ammo .. great carry for winter too .. of course if you shot it from your pocket .. well .. you would be deaf from the bang .. blind from the flash .. and probably your coat would be on fire .. LoL

Since I wear shorts year-round here in Florida, my LCR drops nicely into the cargo pocket or back pocket. If it's cool at night I'll wear an overshirt and use a DeSantis Gunhide and wear it at the 4 o'clock position. I'm 100% confident that I can put rounds on target and there's no questioning the stopping power of the magnum round.

My LCR in .38 is my summer EDC. LOVE it. super comfortable. I painted my front sight white with some automotive touchup paint I have and it made a huge improvement.

I carry my Keltec PF9 at work during the warm time, and carry the KLCR from ruger on my ankle.

In the cold times I carry my KLCR from Ruger as the primary and then the PF9 as my backup.

I do recommend you get the XS sights on the Ruger so you have some extra visibility. They are easy to install and work really good in low light.

I have the LCR .357 and i carry it 50/50 between it and my Glocks. Love it. Great gun. I swaped out the sight for the XS Big Dot night sight that ruger sells it with as an option.
