Ruger LCP

I am in the market for a first concealed carry gun. I believe that I am going to get the Ruger LCP but was curious to see what way others have found best to conceal this little pistol. So if you would let me know if you have or do carry a gun this size and what way works best for you I am really just wanting to get as many ideas as I can.

I carry the LCP daily in a Fobus holster. On those occasions that a holster will not work, then slipping it in a pocket works just as well. It's a great little pistol, but pack it with some good quality expansion rounds like Winchester Ranger 95grain.

I have the Ruger LCP with the Crimson Trace Laser and I bought one of the new Sticky brand holsters as an extra option in addition to the pocket holster that came with the LCP. I like both. The pocket holster works great with heavier jeans or coat pockets. The Sticky works very well also. The Sticky has no straps, buckles, clips, nada. It appears to be a man made material which is just very sticky (but not gummy) on the outside and stays right where you put it between your waistband belt and your underwear. The LCP slides in easily and then the holster encased gun is tucked inside your waistband. I let the grip of the pistol stick just above my belt in the kidney position. It becomes invisible with just an untucked t-shirt. Cinch your belt appropriately and the holster stays put because of the very high coefficient of friction of the holster's exterior. Hope that helps!

I carry the LCP in a couple of ways. Either in IWB holster or on the Ankle. I do suggest the Magazine extensions for added stability. The only part of the LCP that I don't like is that the slide doesn't lock to the rear when the magazine has been emptied. You might want to check out Kal-Tec's version. Over all it's been excellent.

I sold mine. It was no fun to shoot. If you don't shoot it at the range, you're not going to be ready when you need to shoot it away from the range.

I put an LCP in layaway today to be used as a BUG or even a primary carry. I think if as a BUG, I'll use an IWB as a cross-draw, or if as a summer primary, IWB appendix carry. May try a pocket holster later. Gotta get used to the little fella before I know more.

Ruger LCP here too...Desantis Nemisis...Crimson Trace Laser....Front Pocket carry....

Great EASY carry gun, you will have with you ALL the time...But as mentioned...NOT in the least bit, a range gun. I would shoot no more than 100 rds per sitting and even that gets stingy.

But you're not buying it for plinking or range work so I'd go for it. Cabela's actually has a package now with the laser and a holster. It's a good idea to get an extra mag and as mentioned the pearce grip extension is great.

I use Hornady Critical Defense. It was really developed for this gun so that's all I need to know.

Good Luck

I recently added a LCP to my carry arsenal too.

Couple of notes...

Bad: It only comes with one magazine and spares are hard to find. Even Ruger is backordered.

You'll find you need to brighten the front sight. No big deal as the gun is pretty much point-n-fire, close range anyway.

Good: Shoots like a dream. No need to polish ramps, etc.

Conceals easily. On the recommendation of folks on the ElsiePea forum, I bought two holsters...Uncle George rear pocket holster and a Blackhawk pocket holster (#50090).

The Uncle George is leather and does not print. The Blackhawk does not work with the CT laser attached.

Pics of each below.

I took my Crimson Trace Laser off. If I can't hit my target in the lethal threat area of 15' (which the LCP is a close quarters gun and not a moderate or long range gun), I need to not carry. Besides that, the laser's coating make it cumbersome for a pocket carry and draw.

I really like this little LCP, it looks like a toy to some.... i carry it everywhere.
