Former Republican presidential contender Ron Paul has just put out a tweet slamming U.S. Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, author of the New York Times bestseller American Sniper, who was murdered this weekend at a shooting range.

Here's the tweet:
Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense

I responded to a similar story on Yahoo News, which resulted in the following exchange"

Me: I guess Mr. Paul never read John 2:13-17 - "The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

Or Luke 22:36 - "He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one."

Or the Book of the Revelation, in which Jesus, seated on a white horse, will initiate the battle of Armageddon, during which the blood will flow to the horse's bridle as he DESTROYS His enemies.

The same Jesus who taught us to turn the other cheek employed physical violence and taught us to provide for our own self defense - even using offensive weapons. There is a time and a place for both. The Bible knows nothing of the pacifist Jesus preached by Mr. Paul.

Amen! So many quote Jesus out of context falsely claiming that He is a pacifist or that Christianity teaches pacifism.

Tommy Jefferson:
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
I'm afraid your NeoCon blood lust has blinded you. Iraq and Afganistan didn't attack us.
I suggest you read Saints Augustine and Aquinas "Just War Theory" and a little Martin Luther also.

@ Tommy Jefferson - "I'm afraid your NeoCon blood lust has blinded you. Iraq and Afganistan didn't attack us. "

You're right - they didn't attack us; they knowingly harbored or supported those who did, which makes them as guilty as those who actually attacked us. Their support of these and similar organizations makes the acts of terrorism carried out by these organizations "state sponsored."

Has nothing to do with bloodlust, although that is a claim folks like you readily fall back on to make yourselves feel morally superior. My point remains - The Bible knows nothing of the pacifist Jesus preached by Ron Paul. While on the one hand, Jesus came to bring peace, on the other, He came to bring division: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law..." Matt. 10:34-35.

Ron Paul is one of the biggest disgraces to Repuplicans in history. He and his candidacy have proved to be nothing short of a huge joke. He can't even stick to his own platform, flip-flopping on major issues. Nothing he says can be taken seriously. His distasteful tweet should be disregarded by all who have a soul.
