Pleasant Grove Robbery Backfires

Police say a man in the Ridgeway subdivision was checking on his mother's home around 9 a.m. Tuesday when two men jumped out of the bushes with a gun. They tried to steal his truck, but the man also had a gun. He shot and killed one of the men. The other suspect escaped into some nearby woods. Chief Bill Waites say they hope to have a suspect identified soon.

Chalk another one up for the good guys!!!

2 that might think about getting jobs npw.Maybe vote getters:mad:

I think you mean one! One won't be doing much of anything anymore.

Props that this guy giving himself a fighting chance by arming himself. Also big props for being able to draw down and land hits on a bad guy that sounds like already had the jump on him.

+1 KimberPB. Yes, good he hit the one and took him out - also good that it sounds like no harm to him.

Glad to hear they think they know who the other suspect is. Not sure about the laws up there but in some places the second suspect could be charged with murder. Now we'll see how long it takes for Marquis Strange's family to come out about what a good boy he was. :cray:

A friend of mine once made an observation...when a regular person is killed unexpectedly, they're made out to be an incredibly awesome individual. When a not-so-great person dies, they were "turning their life around" or "had lived with a lot of turmoil but still had promise". Except for capital punishment, you never hear of anyone dying and people just say..."Yeah, they pretty much got what was coming to them."

Marquis Strange sounds like he was working really hard to get himself either in some serious trouble, or dead. It's unfortunate that he made so many poor decisions in life. I'd have shot him too, though.

This is a very true statement. People always try to find the good in people. The fact of the matter is, if they were turning their life around, he would not have been trying to rob someone. Families never admit that their son/daughter/brother or sister is bad. They are always perfect in their eyes. There are risks in everything. This guy knew that the risks were either A) go to jail, or B) end up a corpse. He ended with option B. Maybe other criminals will learn from this.

How can they possibly report this as anything but positive. This article should've been called: "Pleasant Grove Man Fights Back" or "Pleasant Grove Armed Robbery Thwarted."

That's like saying "United Flight 93 Terrorist Hijacking Goes Wrong." Liberal media at its finest.
