RIA 1911A2 or a SIG 1911 stx

Thinking of buying one or the other i like more rounds. Kinda why you have a gun but for ultimate reliability can someone advise there opinions please espeacially if you have shot either or both
thanks

I haven't owned both by have shot both.... don't think you are comparing apples to apples here. While they are both 1911's.. they are probably very different price wise and by fit and finish. The RIA is a great, inexpensive GI gun and the STX is a more refined and tuned by SIG.

They both have their places but the STX should look, feel, and shoot like a different gun than the RIA.

I have RIA 1911 38 Super and the fit and quality is excellent. No problems, Accurate out of the box and eats anything I put in it. Have a Sig 220 .45 acp single stack. Accurate, never fails to fire and eats everything also. I prefer my RIA as a ccw though.

One thing to consider is RIA (Rock Island Armory I assume) slides are cast instead of forged so that could lead to premature wear and/or failure imo. Their process may have changed over the last couple years though. Have you considered a Ruger SR1911 or Remington R1 for example as a less costly but high quality alternative to a Sig? Something else to consider would be the extra weight and bulkiness of the double stack especially for carry. I have a single stack 1911 and although it's a bit heavy for comfortable concealed carry it's flatness helps it's conceal-ability.

I've not shot the stx, but I do own a sig 1911 traditional compact in SS. It is my second sig pistol and solid as all get out.

One thing to be wary of is that the Sig 1911s have a squared slide profile, so they may not fit into your standard 1911 holsters. The traditionals have all the same internals, just the rounded slide profile to fit standard 1911 gear. I don't think you can go wrong with any sig.

The latest. The police took the old man's gun. Too old to own it. Deemed incapable. Google it. Weird. But I agree.

You are plain Stupid! You can't even post the link! I call it BS. I googled it and can't find it.

I like both but would have to say it's like comparing a les baer and a sr1911. Both are nice but the baer is just a little more and not just in price. Here's a thought get both. :)
