recommendation on a pocket pistol

Trying to find some good recommendations on a good reliable pocket pistol for concealed carry!!!!
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I like the Ruger lcp. Except for the fact I would lose it in my pocket.
My father has one and I have shot it quite a few times and I like it. Its small easy to hide. It does has a bark and a tad of recoil but over all no to bad.
I do recommend the finger extension on the magazine as it makes it a lot more comfortable to shoot.

Ruger LCP or LC9. The LC9 is a bit bigger, but can definitely still fit in a front jean or dockers pocket.

Another vote for the Ruger LCP for a true pocket pistol that will flat work for you. LC9 is you want close to that size and a great IWB...but if you really want pocket, the LCP is hard to beat. Add the laser and you got a nice package (Desantis Pocket Holster)

My $0.02 worth - the idea of a pocket pistol is that (potentially) can be fired from the pocket.

Conventional semi-automatics are less than ideal for this. The constriction of the pocket may prevent the slide from operating properly, or obstruct the ejection port causing a misfeed. This reduces the gun's effectiveness to one shot when fired from the pocket.

Conventional (hammer-type) revolvers are also less than ideal. The pocket fabric can easily get between the hammer and firing pin, causing failure to fire. The gun's effectiveness may be reduced to zero shots.

This leaves us with hammerless revolvers - an excellent choice. It's possible that if you have excessive pocket fabric, it could still get tangled up in the cylinder, but this isn't very likely. Ruger, Charter Arms, and Smith&Wesson make a nice variety.

I like my bodyguard .380, but I do agree with phillip, small hammerless revolver would b ideal. Not too many parts would b affected.

I carry a Smith & Wesson hammerless j-frame in my front pocket everyday of my life. Mine is the 340 PD but also have a 642. Remora pocket holster makes a complete package. I used to carry a Kahr P-380 but I found that the "flatness" of the semiauto makes a more obvious print in jeans than the unusual outline of the j-frame. And as previously stated it is reliable and can fired from the pocket if need be.

I love lcp that i pocket carry every day. I am not a fan of shooting from the pocket, with practice i can draw pretty fast from my pocket holster and get a better shot off imo. I were work pants daily like emt pants and no one ever thinks i carry even though the subject comes up often.

You should try to rent as many of the suggested pistols and revolvers mentioned above before you buy. You might discover they are not very pleasant to shoot and therefore unpleasant to practice with.

That said, I have found that the Kahr CM9 is an extremely reliable, high quality semiauto that is accurate, reasonably comfortable to shoot, and is 200 bucks less expensive than the same sized Kahr PM9.

Try a NORTH AMERICAN ARMS product. They are primarily known for their line of easy to conceal 22 caliber mini-revolvers. But they also have other offerings such as semi-automatics in other calibers as well. Just Google NORTH AMERICAN ARMS. Ive been carrying a NAA for more than 30 years.

Pocket carry is good, unless you are setting down. IWB carry is fine, but only if you body size and shape allows it in comfort. OWB carry is fine, depending on weather, comfort, and clothing. I guess my point is there is probably no one gun perfect for every application. Oh, and don't forget a most important issue = budget. Because of back problems, I am not erect most of the time and when I was, I pocket carried a Kel-Tec P3AT. I still have it and do carry it on hot summer days because of conceal-ability. Spring, fall and winter I carry a Bersa 380 OWB. OWB because I cannot find a comfortable place for an IWB. .380 because the recoil is less than a 9 or 40, and, at my age, I can get back on target faster for 2nd and 3rd shots if necessary. Just my opinion. Wish I had one gun to recommend for all occasions, but I don't. I do, however hope that this gives you food for thought when deciding on what to buy/carry. Respectfully Submitted

My Taurus TCP 738 fits well in pocket with the Desantis holster. Locks back on the last round. Pretty good trigger for a DA. Feels comfortable in hand (even more so with my Pachmayr palm swell grips). Great price.
