Reciprocity Questions

So, I'm interested in getting my concealled carry permit, but I have a somewhat unique situation... I'm currently active duty mil but am separating in the next month or two. My DL is from TX and that's my "home of record." I'm stationed in North Dakota. I'm moving to AR after I'm done. I'd like to get my permit now, as opposed to waiting til I move and establish residency, but I don't know which state I should get it from or even if I can obtain it from anywhere other than ND. I'm a newbie to the world of CCW and don't have a lot of free time to do tons of research. Get a ND permit or AR? Can I get an AR permit? If I get a ND permit, do I need to trade it for an AR permit once I move?

Any understanding would be appreciated...

It will take a few months to get your permit anyhow. Just wait till you get to AR. Then when address is established start the process.

The AZ Non-resident permit is quick and easy (I recieved mine within a month) and is honored by both ND and AR.

If you want one right now, you have three choices. Get a ND non-resident, travel to TX to take the class and get a TX permit, or get a non-resident permit by mail from a state like FL or AZ that issues them that way. Otherwise wait and get on from AR when you move there. If your looking for reciprocity, AR is the best bet as it is recognized by more states.
